I noticed on a website that sells aftermarket barrels that they also sell training barrels.  What would be the purpose of these?  Why couldn't you just train and practice with your regular barrel?  Here is the link so you know what I'm talking about.  Thanks.

I dunno, redundantly guarantee that your weapon is not going to fire? Something easily solved by making sure all of your ammo is in a separate room, and that your weapon is clear?

This. A non-functional training barrel is cheap insurance for your life. Having seen a training "accident" before, I can tell you it happens.

Training Accident and Fire Arms Don't FLY! You have idiot's who DILLIGAF's Safety and blames live ammo/blanks being mixed, Negligent Dischares on someone else or oops Sorry it was an accident. It's Bull! Learn you job and do it professialy, you half ass it, you'll kill someone. The Brits do it right, Live ammo and only Live Ammo for all training. Don't have time for poeple doing stupid, I went 18 months loading and unloading my M-4 everyday never once did I have a Round in the chamber, unless I was going out side the wirer or to a battle postion. If you need to make sure poeple are clear and the barrel clean, 1 person inspects all wepons, after inspection throw a Zip Tie threw the mag well and out the chanber blocking the bolt open and no mag going in the weapon. Keep It Simple Stupid! And get the Stupid (Poeple) off the ranges!!
