I ordered a ZEV V2 Race Connector for my G17 (use: range gun/USPSA production) from Midway USA. I installed it last night and found my trigger pull increased to well over 10lbs!
Long story short I got bored being home sick (strep) and I went to filing and stoning the trigger bar where it was binding with the disconnector (I took off a lot of material). When I finally got things all fitted the trigger was down to what I consider a very light pull for a Glock (3lbs), however it was very long (much like a para LDA)yet didn't have a distinct "break," just pull...pull... pull, bang. Just for kicks I stuck the stock diconnector back in. Much to my surprise, I has a very short and crisp trigger with almost no distance between the trigger breaking and the reset with a weight around 4lbs.
Now I'm conflicted... Do I just buy an extra power trigger spring and use the stock disconnector to get the weight down; or do I order a ZEV trigger bar and hope it take up all the pre-travel using the V2 disconnector? (I know the spring cost like $5 and the trigger bar is $100, I just want the closest thing to my 1911 so I don't have a struggle switching back and forth. I want the light break with minimal take up and a short reset. I have to go fill my script and I will grab some batteries for my camera so I can post a video comparison of the two disconnectors. |
| That's odd, i have the Zev connector and it made a world of difference over the Lone Wolf 3.5# connector i had in it before. Trigger pull seemed much shorter (I also have the zev trigger spring, safety plunger spring, adjustable overtravel housing...competition gun only) and much lighter. I wish i had a trigger pull scale, but i guess it is probably under 3lbs. |

I'm thinking what you did is remove all the hardening on the steel. Now your trigger will fail and start to double fire prematurely. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.... happened to people who did the $.25 trigger job and on Springfield trigger jobs on ARs. | The portion of the trigger that I took material off of was not the cruciform, it was where the trigger bar interfaces with the disconnector. I don't know that there is any real strength issue with this portion of the trigger. If this area weakened or failed it wouldn't make the gun double tap, it just wouldn't fire or reset. |

I may just buy their mac daddy kit "The Fulcrum Ultimate" Now I just need to find my camera.... |
