| I've seen a few people mention that the full size tactical USP is a deal compared to the full size USP. Does the same hold true for the compact tactical, or is it only a barrel change? Also are there accuracy problems with the 40 compared to the 45? I know that subjective, but any info would be helpful. |
| No accuracy problems between the two calibers. I think the .45 Compact Tactical is reasonable, but it's not a "deal" like it's fullsize brethren. No match trigger, no adjustable raised sights...just the standard usp compact with a threaded, o-ringed barrel, carrying case, and cleaning kit! |

Well I do know that in .45, many hollowpoints fail to expand at around 800 fps and that Doc Roberts recommends a minimum .45 barrel length of 4.25 inches. The CT meets that, whereas the standard tactical does not. One may have to use +P in the USPC, whereas one can still use standard pressure without worries in the USPCT. Of course, for the added price you are better off getting a full size. |

After a certain fps, they can fail to expand, hence +P. I use Ranger Talons, the latest version is designed to expand under normal pressures and in short barrels. On the box, it will have a "T" like RA45T. They also come in a +P load too. My USPc45s are very accurate. The O-ring has no effect on the CT. +1 for a fullsize if you get a can. |
| The objective was to replace my px4 9mm as my ccw, with the option of using a can secondary since current WA laws prohibit using one. I love my beretta's accuracy which I routinely hit clay pigeons first shot at 25 yards, but the calibre and slide safetly leave alot to desire. Is carrying a USP fullsize IWB practical? So out of the standard USP45c is there a concern with jhp not expanding at 7- 20 yards? |
