What exactly are the differences in these two handguns?  Saw a USP45  today at a pawn shop that was marked $550.00 for the gun 3 10 round mags and a holster.  Guy said that he knows the guy who pawned it and has between 500 and 700 round  through it.  Overall I would say that it is probably rate it 95%.  Is that a decent price for it?

Differences from the HK USP45 include a separate safety and decocker lever that allows silent decocking of the Mark 23, a threaded barrel, larger frames and slide dimensions. The USP45 was developed parallel to the Mark 23 and shares many of the same technologies, such as the recoil buffer spring that reduces recoil forces,  prolonging the service life of and reducing felt recoil.

Basically, the Mark 23 is a scaled-up version of the USP45, with all of the components being more robust (specifically designed to take the punishment of combat).

That being said...the Mark 23 has some other basic differences:
- Did I mention heavier? (2.42 lbs vs. 1.74 lbs empty) ...this is a big factor in felt recoil and target re-acquisition
- Wider sight radius (7.76 in. vs 6.34 in)
- Fixed iron sights (can be adjusted for windage)
- Threaded barrel turns opposite direction
- Not as many after-market items available

Oh,
and yes...$550.00 seems to be an ok price (If there were only that many rounds through it).
