I have recently joined the H&K club, and I really love this gun. I've shot 300 rounds so far in 2 trips to the range. My problem is that everthing is hitting in the low left quadrant. Perhaps 3 inches low and 2 inches left on average at 7 yards, decent groupings though. I've never had this problem before, not that I am an expert. I am wondering if the triple dot sites are screwing me up. They are supposed to be lined up with the front site on the target, but maybe I am lollipop'n it. Has anyone else had this trouble? How much time do you think is enough before I send it back to have the front site lowered? |

The left part is coming from you pushing the trigger. As you get use to the USP's trigger the group will come on target. Get some snap caps and practice you trigger control until you front sight no longer dips off target at the trigger break, or you can put a dime on the slide and practice your trigger control trying to keep the dime from moving around at the break of the trigger. The low is quite often caused by shooters using the normal American 6:00 hold, but HKs are sighted in to use a cover up hold. The bullets tend to either hit behind the front dot or right above it so the usual pumpkin-on-a-post American hold makes shooters shoot low. That was why I swapped out my fixed sights to MMC adjustables. I can now hold using the sight picture I want to use, not what some German in the Father land thinks I should use. |
