now that there's a tactical compact, does this mean I can get a match trigger kit for a USP Compact? HKPro's forums won't send me an email confirmation or I'd ask there. |

Thanks for the reply. In that case, I find this to be a little misleading: "The USP Compact Tactical A new HK Product, the USP45CT is a compact .45 caliber handgun developed for U.S. special operations use. Termed the CT for counter terrorist by insiders, the HK USP45 Compact Tactical combines the proven features of the full-size USP45 Tactical pistol in a smaller, more concealable package. " |

I have not yet swapped out the parts but, many of the match trigger group parts will fit in the compact. Over this next week, I'll find the time to give it a whirl and post the results. At this time, I am inclined to believe the match trigger, trigger return / rebound spring, flat / sear spring, along with the hammer shall fit both the full sized and the compact versions. The hammer spring shall be a definite no-go. Which would lead me to look towards Wolff Springs for a hammer spring. I'll post more later in the week once I have a definitive answer. |

Most of the parts from the match kit will fit in the Compact but the trigger will not.** The way I see it is if you cannot do it all, why bother? The match trigger is not that much lighter than the standard trigger, only more crisp with no OT. Not that big a deal IMO. I can shoot almost as well with the Compacts and their "crummy" triggers as I can with the Tac, Expert, and Elite. Sure, the match trigger feels better but IMO it is a waste of time and money to do a "match" trigger kit install if you cannot use all the parts, and you won't be able to. Several on HKPRO have put the the match trigger kits in the Compact sans trigger and while it helps some, that's a lot of cash for such a minor improvement. IMO your money would be better spent sending the pistol to Teddy Jacobson or Bruce Gray for a trigger job. **that was with the old kit. The new match trigger kits have a "D" shaped cut out in the hammer and it needs a new trigger bar that does not come in the kit. If you use the hammer with the "D" shape cut out and do not replace the trigger bar the gun is not safe to fire. The hammer goes too far forward when decocking and even though the FPB is functional, there have been reports of badly dimpled primers after decocking, like you see on the AR-15, so with the new kit you MUST replace the trigger bar also. |
