Anybody have one? Do you like it? What would be a good price on a used one?

Thanks.

Made a Poor Boy's Match out of my Tactical.
No.  Too muzzle heavy.  I am really glad I converted a Tac with a $28 barrel extension and added the weights rather than drop $1500 for gun that would serve me no better than a brick.  I intend on getting two some day for the collection but that is the only use I have it.  The Tac, Expert, and Elite are just as accurate.
HE finished used, $1000 to $1500 depending on condition and completeness.
SS used, $1300 to $2000, and have seen them go as high as $2500 at the height of the TRI and II craze.
For a bullseye match pistol the Match would be great because the weights really do keep you on target, especially with light target loads.  For anything else I would use either the Compact, USP, Expert, Elite, Tac, or SOCOM.  I really do not like the way that 3/4 pound weight hanging off the end of the frame ruins the balance of the pistol and outside of bullseye match shooting see no use for the pistol what so ever.  Apparently most people agreed with me because until TR I and II came out HK could not give them away.  After the hot-chick waved them around for a flick or two then all of a sudden everyone and their grandmother wanted one, but HK had already stopped importing them (talk about bad timing).  There are rumors that they may start importing them again after they see how the SL-8 and USC do this time around but that has been an on again off again rumor for a few years now.  Currently it is an on again rumor.

Thanks. I have one on layaway. He is charging $625 so I guess it is a good deal. I'm not sure how old it is. There is some play in the slide to frame fit but the finsih is good and the internals seem good. If I don't like the weight I can take it off right?

ETA: The more I look, the more I think it is a regular USP 45 with a match weight added on. Oh well!

I bought a stainless USP Match out the door for $800 brand new when nobody wanted them.
They had a black one I wanted at the same price at the time but the bbl. was touching the weight so I passed.
I had intended to remove the weight and put a shorter after market bbl. in it to handle lead and use it that way. Never happened, I shoot it the way it is and like it fine.
Being a 1911 guy this trigger is acceptable and shoots very well.
No idea on prices and I am keeping this one.

If a true Match the pistol should have an extended 6.02 inch barrel that is serial numbered to the pistol.  It should also have match adjustable sights and a match trigger.  If cobbled together with an aftermarket barrel, an un-serial numbered barrel, or worse yet no extended barrel at all then reconsider.  If it has an extended barrel but not a true match and you don't mind buying a clone, then fine.  But watch the price because all it is is a USP with extra parts, not a true Match.  If it has the standard slide length barrel then look out, damage may have been done to the frame.
PM reply sent.

I have a stainless and a black Match .45........they shoot very well, and are nose heavy[guess that would be the point of a weight] Clones are out there, so be sure everything is there[match pistol supplement paperwork].  The originals have inlaid lettering on the barrel weight, and later stuff is just painted on. As said before, all the parts[frame/slide/barrel] should have matching #'s. It is a collectable thst is fun to shoot. A carry gun, it's not!!
