I see alot of USP compacts around here, and very few P2000s. Is there a reason why? I just spent 2 days getting some training on the P2000 as it will be my duty sidearm as an armored truck guard, and I must say I was very impressed. Point very well, it has adjustable backstraps, night sights and the LEM trigegr it came with is just awesome. So why did you chose the USPc over the P2000? |
I picked mine up barely used. I've shot the P2000 and like it. I got the USPc because it was available at the time and I liked the V1 versatility. BTW, I've shot the LEM and while I thought it was ok, it wasn't my first pick. With enough training I'm sure I'd pick up on it and do well. |
| I own both and I really prefer the USPc to the P2000. I like to carry cocked and locked, and you can't do that with the P2k. The trigger pull on my USPc is also A LOT nicer with a nicer reset than my P2k. Both are good guns, just prefer tha USPc. Can't go wrong with either one. |

1. The USPc can be had in .45 ACP, whereas the P2000 cannot. Both weapons come in 9mm, .40 and .357 Sig. 2. Some people believe the LEM trigger is better on the P2000. However, the USPc has a shorter reset with the LEM (3-4 mm) vs. the P2000 (8-9mm). 3. The P2000 is truly an ambi weapon. Slide release, mag release and decocker (if so equipped with the V. 3 option) can all be done with either hand. While the safety/decocker can be moved to the right hand side on the USPc, the slide release must stay on the left side (bad for left-handed people). The P2000 has a slide release on BOTH sides. 4. The corners on the P2000 are rounded a bit more than the USPc. This may make the P2000 less likely to get caught on clothing if you are CCW. 5. The P2000 has a standard Picatinny rail for lights, etc. With the USPc, you either have to use the HK weaponlight or use an adapter bracket to mount a Surefire, Streamlight or other common weaponlight. 6. The P2000 and USPc use the same mags. for a particular caliber (e.g., 9mm). 7. The P2000 comes with different sized backstraps so you can configure the gun to fit your hand. The USPc is one size fits all. 8. The USPc has a manual safety, while the P2000 does not. so, you can carry the USPc cocked and locked if you wish (the HK manual even says this). 9. If you are a 24 fan, Jack Bauer carries a USPc in 9mm (Var. 1). Either way, they are both great weapons. I have a USPc in .45 ACP and a P2000 LEM in 9mm. |
