I did a 3 day canoe trip this week and wiped out in some rapids. My USPc was completely submerged for several minutes. Once I recovered, I unpacked all my gear and saw that my dry sack containing the gun had failed. In my 36 years, I've never managed to completely submerge a firearm for any reason. I've noticed already that the spring behind the mag release has some rust on it. Do I need to have someone take it apart for a better cleaning than I'm capable of? |

Thanks guys, I oiled it very heavily and then used a can of compressed air to spray the oil out of the crevices. I gave it a good cleaning and everything I can see appears ok, however, strangely, the decock is much harder to push down than it was before. I bought this gun last year and it's had maybe 200 rounds through it...I guess I may pay someone to take it apart completely for an inspection. |
