I believe I have found my next carry .45 - - the Kimber Ultra CDP II .45 ACP. After years of owning and shooting my Charles Daly 1911s, and having the chance to check out the Kimber, I believe I am a convert to the "Church of Kimber". The Kimber had a better "feel" smoother cycle, and was so light that it would easily work for long term concealed carry in Florida's heat. |

+1 for the Ultra CDP II, It was my 2nd .45. (Affter a REAL BAD experience with a PAra piece of crap which I later traded for 2 Glocks). I have nothing but good things to say. Ive fed it everything from junk wolf to 230 +P Black talons, never a hiccup unlike some other micro .45's, (I wont mention any names). Great carry piece, awesome reliabilty and accuracy. I added an arched mainspring housing w/tac magwell for a better hand placement and some Wilson mags and never looked back. Still going strong at 7k+ rds! Go for it!! |

Another +1 on the ultra CDP II. Carrying it as I write this. It was the first thing I bought with my combat pay coming back from Iraq six months ago. 700+ rounds, no problems. Settled on the federal PD 165 grain load. Through experance have become a believer in the hit bad people with big bullets, several times, quickly school of thought and that load works well with the short barrel and light wieght. My 21 year old sister also carries one with 500+ rounds, no problems. Both of us use wilson mags in them. Fed it over 10 different flavors of ammo before I settled on the load, no problems. I keep the weapon close to my skin (I use the smart carry holster) and my sweat is castic, rusting even some stainless steel. No problems with that or any other wear so far. |
| I just traded a LNIB ultra cdp ll for a Sig p226 blackwater 9mm at the local gun shop in Savannah Ga. I never experienced a single problem with the gun, I just didn't like the way it felt in my hand. It would make a very nice CCW pistol. I think someone could get this one for about 800.00 ,if interested.E.T.A. If you are interested, IM me for info on the shop. |
