Found an unusual Colt 45 auto in a gun shop the other day. The markings on the left side are: Interservice Pistol Champion 1968 Grand AGG Winner National Match Colt Automatic 45 plus the Colt rampant colt. Obviously. sounds like this must have been the prize for the grand aggregate winner, but was this a military match (e.g., Army vs Marines)? That's what it sounds like. Any idea of the value of this gun in Exc condition??

The more important part might be does the frame match the slide? Given the age of the gun, someone could've slapped a gun show slide on a frame & gone from there. Other markings aside, the slide does indicate a "NM" model, IMO. As for value, you'll need to include particulars such as finish, condition, type of sights, etc. etc. If it is a standard NM Gold Cup or a NM 1911, it should be at least $900-1000 or so. Could be a lot more if everything is in original & correct issue. |
