Depends on what You are using it for.

If for duty or open carry then yes go for it.

If CC I would go for the ALS open top.

As someone who has worn a Safariland holster for about 13 years, I do not recommend the hood guard. Personal opinion but I think it gets in the way of your draw and catches and bumps on everything, not to mention digging into your arm in an interview stance.

I've had a 6360 (ALS/SLS) for about 3 years now and I expected I would dislike the hood guard. I guess I wouldn't say I like it but it hasn't bothered me either. However, on a holster that has a SLS hood and the ALS I don't feel that it's needed. If it was ALS only then maybe.

I wear the ALS only 6390, and the forst thing I did was remove that piece of shit ALS guard. hated it with a passion.
