I posted this under Glock as well ...l Loking to upgrade from a Smith 642 and really like the reports on Ruger's Commander size 1911. What would be a god retail price for one and where should I look for one in Ga? I'm also looking at Glock 19s and 23s.

Low to mid 600 range at the shows. High 600 range at the shops. I bought a very lightly used one for $579.

Nice gun. Accurate, decent trigger, reliable.

I've carried J Frmaes, Commanders and Glock 19s.

Save the time, money, and wasted effort. Skip straight to the Glock 19.

You could score a used Springfield Loaded for a really good price.
