I have a P226, circa 1988, 10,000 rounds through it, rebuilt by Sig Sauer in 2005, re blued/parked,  by sig, new grips, faded night sights (but still glow a bit) and six factory mags.

Whats it worth?

I don't see many on gun broker to compare.

A lot if it is west German made.

Ballpark?  I just picked up a West German one myself.  '89 in good shape.

I'd say $400-500 for the gun and two mags, depending on condition.  Another $20/mag if they are in good shape.

That would go up if the night sights were new.

You can buy a brand new one for $800-900.

$500

10,000 rds, reblued = $300

ETA: missed the 6 mags, add $20 per extra mag so $380-400 total

What about a pair of NIB West German ones with consecutive serial numbers?

The West German guns, while very well-made, don't automatically bring a premium because many of them (most of them) have a LOT of life behind them.  That's not to say they're worn out--a German Sig 226 will probably outlive most of us here--but they're far from new and that condition factors into cost.
Now, if you find one in excellent original condition...that would carry a premium.
But for what the OP describes (minus photos and more details) would probably bring between $500-600 as a shooter, not a collector.

bigash636 snagged a mint hardly shot 87 with complete yellow box for $500.

$400 for yours

I sold a KH with one mag and bright night sights for $550 shipped to an FFL.  It was in great condition.  If your barrel wasn't replaced when it was rebuilt at SIG then maybe $450 as a high with one mag, add $20-25 per mag. If you have the box and target, then it is worth somewhat more.

A West German with 6 mags for $400? Even with that many rounds and the refin that sounds low. I'd say $500-600 would be more in line, at least in my neck of the woods.

$400-550 for used depending on condition and location....More (quite a bit) for a minty one with box and papers..That being said, although I am a huge fan of the German made guns and its all I own, don't get caught up in the hype of them. Dealers are now starting to promote these earlier German guns as some sort of Holy Grail and asking astronomical prices for them. The new 226's are great guns. Just sayin.

Same as any of the factory reworked guns ~500-550.

Mags as stated above about 15-25 a piece after 2 with the gun.

If those are pre-ban factory mags, they're worth (to some people) more than $15-25.

there aren't that many states that allow "preban" mags since they are all rewording their laws

Where can I find factory hi-cap mags for $15 each?  I'd pick up some more at that price.

While I haven't bought any P226 mags in a long time, last time I did I was using Mec Gar mags and real happy with them.  Are they still making P226 mags and if so, how are they regarded these days?

Used mags can be found for cheap if you look around and are patient.

A collector MAY show interest, to me the west German Sigs will always be worth around $500 each.  Unless they are shot to hell.

The sig rework is really all spring replacement, night sights, new grip screws, and a new extractor.  It is a hell of a deal for $125... Does it increase your pistols value? Sure, but not by much.

id say $450-$550. The gun has seen a lot of rounds, but the six mags do help the value.
