I have a friend who has a MC Operator, with maybe 50 rounds through it, everything that came with it, hard case, manual, papers, etc, cheap plastic Springer holster, who needs money, I told him to name a price but he said you name it, I have no problem paying its true price, so what is that price, I dont want to lowball him, as he really needs the money so I offered to buy so he doesnt do a desperation sale.  Like I said it has less than 50 rounds through it, and probably closer to 20-25, (he said he only ran 4 or 5 mags through it) he only shot it once, cleaned it and put it away, so its excellent shape to excellent plus.
Thanks

They are selling for $1083 shipped at Bud's.

$900 or below would be a good deal, between $900 and $1,000 would be an average deal.

I bought one like that off the EE (from a WTB ad) for $750 shipped about 2 years ago now. Outstanding pistol.

Also see the post by SHIVAN in this thread.

I got one in the same condition as you described for $760.00 last year and was happy with that price.

$750 - $900, split the difference and offer him $825

Well I was telling him about prices last night, and I got to thinking, would he do better, if I listed it on the EE for him?

There is one on the EE now for 1K, that's too much for me.

By the time you add ahipping and FFL fees, it would be cheaper to buy new.

Keep that in mind, anywhere in the $800-900 range IMO

No.  Better to keep it among friends.  If it was me I'd sell it on the EE for $900 or to a friend for $800.  Keep in mind he will have to ship it and there will be a PayPal charge if he sells it on the EE, which will all easily amount to $40-$50.

Have him sell it to you, for what ever he feels is fair. If you are truely a good friend, tell him when the money situation gets better he can buy it back for same money. If he is just an acquaintence, then agree on a fair price to both of you and enjoy. Either way you are getting something out of it, a better friendship or a 1911 - hell, possibly both.

+1 to the last few... plus, if he sells to a friend, he can visit it from time to time.  I sold my XD45C to a friend for a lot less than I could have gotten elsewhere, but I feel good about that.  I like doing right by those who do right by me.  Plus, it introduced a new shooter to the sport!

Well I was going to take it, but I already have one MC, why not 2?? My wife informed me that hes going to give the money to his dead beat son, they will go without and give him money........  Anyway, I said I would sell it here on the EE for him.  I just cant bear the thought of any of my money going to his dead beat son, whos never done anything more than get in trouble, etc, etc, and my wife is figures if he doesnt sell it he will just gie it to him and end up on the streets.  I hate it when parents cant see something for what it is, and its never his fault.  Principal of the situation.

At least try to get the pistol out of the deal, and let their son's issues be their problem.

I bought a low round count MC Operator but I'd have to think hard what I paid for it as opposed to what I told Household Six I paid for it.
