| I saw one of these at a local gun store. They only wanted $375 for it. Only thing I could see wrong with it was that it was missing a front sight on the front sight ramp. There was only a few of these imported right? I almost bought just because of price, I thought to resale on gunbroker then thought maybe I am wrong on resale value. What should one be worth? |

There were tons of them imported. They were the first polymer framed pistol, a fact often lost on Glockophiles. They are a very good pistol way ahead of their time with the only down side being the atrocious trigger pull. Front sights are cheap and you can probably find an original site from Gun Parts Corp. At that price I'd jump on it but make sure you can live with the trigger pull if you are getting it as a shooter. There is no real fix for the heavy trigger pull and you have to remember this pistol's legacy. Its parent was the VP-70 which was had a detachable shoulder stock that turned the pistol into a machine pistol. The full auto mechanism was in the stock, not the pistol, so there are a lot of oddities associated with the VP-70 line.
A complete (two mags, box, manual) used VP-70Z goes for about $600-$700 with one NIB considerably more. Just a pistol and one mag often brings about $450 to $500 if in decent shape so since yours is missing the front site, I would say if that is all that is wrong with the pistol its value would be in the $450 range. |
