Just trying to get an idea of value.  I need to down size in the safe again. I have a older 9mm M&P9 with the thumb safty that i love but never shoot. It has the standard barrel a factory threaded barrel. Trying to figure out if it is worth selling in the next few months. Any idea at all of value?

I have a bunch of 9mm pistols that i cant part with. So i figured at some level maybe i would make room by letting the M&P go. But on some level a good shooting, reliable supressor host is worth keeping if I cant get much money out of it. Even if it just gets thrown in the trunk or something. But right now it just sits in the safe.

I was at the LGS today looking for used 22 Ruger .  They had what looked like an excellent condition M&P 9. Plain bbl, no safety.
450.  Also had a beater Glock 19 for 375.   Stuff is not selling out here. They are flush with used.

The Gen 1 guns are a tough sell.  Lot of them out there.  $300 to $350, private sale. Dealer will be less, a lot less.  Anything more than that and it will sit.  Probably better off keeping it.

Around here they are usually in the $350 range, and don’t move very fast. Shame, they are usually very accurate shooters.

Thats what i was kind of thinking. Less than 4 or 450 and it hardly feels worth selling. I never shoot it but actually it is a fine pistol. Nice ergonmics, metal mags, 17+1 capacity, reliable and accurate. Not to mention it now has a factory left hand thread barrel and is a great host. I will just leave it where it is for now.

I actually like the thumb safty which works for me a lot like my 1911s and the way my HK USP did. My thumb kind of just sits on it as part of a high grip. But it gives me a little more securty loaded and not in a holster. This really never happens so it is a pointless argument. My standard practice has been ALL loaded pistols are holstered. The holster is the safty. And any holstered pistol is loaded. Remove from the holster and it is ready. Even my night stand gun sits in a holster.  I am sure there are people that disagree with this but it has been a consistent way for a long time and i like consistency.

Interesting. I figured they would fall in the $200-$300 range. I'll probably just keep it as a backup, but I figured I'd be lucky to get $300 for mine despite it having a stipple job, threaded barrel, Apex trigger, and 10-8 (normal height) sights.
