What would be the value of a colt combat commander in 45acp blued series 70 new in box? I have the oppurtunity to purchase one but have not been told a price yet, Also is there a sort of blue book for guns on the internet? Thanks.

Blue Book says 100% is $1,000.00................ No, there is no "official" Blue Book on line w/o paying their join-up fee. One can look at lists like Gun Broker & such for additional guidelines, but everything is, of course, subjective. Unless one sees the actual gun being sold, it's hard to be positive of the value, IMO. Good luck!

I am going to see the gun next weekend. Apparently its been sitting in a gun safe in the original box for years. The owner passed away approx 6 years ago and his elderly wife is selling all of his stuff. I have been looking for a 1911 to use as a carry piece and this is what I really want. I am hoping it is in good shape and the price is reasonable. Thanks for the info.
My best friend is a police officer, and he recently handled an estate sale for a widow whose late husband had several hundred guns new in box. My buddy knew I was looking for a Colt Combat Commander, and he found one new in box for $875. He ended up buying so many of the guns himself, that he got the Commander down to $585. I am a shooter, not a collector, and after realizing how rough the trigger was, and getting one out of 50 ejected shells in the forehead, off it went to Wayne Novak for sights, trigger, etc. My steal of the century!
