OK.. I was at a gun show, and I got one of these "Glock Generation Four Tactical Magazine Catch.
I looked on YouTube, and a guy kind of explained what it was.  I have looked on Google, (well only a little bit) and
kind of have an idea what it is.

Does any one here, have a better understanding of what it is.  This might be off topic for this one, and if
so sorry.  Anyone want to buy it.

It's just an extended mag release.  The only difference between the Vickers and the Glock extended release is the corners of the button are rounded off a little bit.  The release being extended more than the standard OEM Glock release is so that it's easier to manipulate with your thumb to operate.  They don't stick out a whole lot more than the standard releases, but if you're carrying concealed it might be a little more noticeable.  I have the Glock version, and like it alot.

I have one on my G17 and I do like it.  The difference isn't all that great, but the button itself is rounded and sticks further out than the standard part.  But you probably already know all this.  The photo below (right) shows how flat the standard release is.

Well  . . . . . . . I installed a Glock extended mag release on my G-22 and G-23.

Friend gave me an extended Vickers to try so I installed it on my G-23 (EDC)

Went back to the extended Glock release.

Just my 2 cents . . . . .

I like the Glock version too.  I don't see how it could be improved upon except for more comfortable concealed carry, but that wouldn't be much.

The Gen 3 release is longer than the stock, but shorter then the extended. This is so the release is easy to reach, but not so long that it would could be released by pressure from a holster or other outside force.

I like the Vickers best on a Gen 3 gun.

I put one of these on my gen4 G35.  Really like the way it feels over the stock mag release.  Will probably be putting one on my gen4 G23 as well.  The glock mag release doesn't feel natural at all to me.

Does anyone think any extra dirt, etc. can get in since it isn't flush? I like the look.

Depending on your ccw holster, there can be an issue with some of the a/m mag release. I love my glocks and only add a couple things to them for functionality -- trijicon n/s and a match grade slide lock which for me has resulted in somewhat tighter groupings, and won't need replacement like the factory part. Otherwise I just stock up on plenty of mags, ammo, and shoot them like they were meant to be.

I don't do extended mag releases. I've seen waaaaaaay too many guys at matches draw a pistol and the mag hit the ground because he extended button was pressed against the holster.
