I'm having issues holding down my stock Glock slide release, and having the slide not lock back on an empty mag.  I'm also occasionally sucking wind with overhand slingshot release on reloads as well.

Got to try the Vickers slide release on another arfcommer's gun (thanks CTB!)  I like my Glocks as stock as possible, but this seemed like an obvious solution.

A few questions:

How are these for concealed carry?

Do they chew up leather and kydex?

Sometimes in the summer I honestly just "Mexican Carry" cross-draw on my weak side.  (Rangeofficers: I use a kydex trigger guard cover that has a lanyard attached to my belt)  Is this going to eat into my hip/underpants?

Any issues with premature slide-lock (previously had this issue with the Glock factory extended release, and went back to the regular one)

Easy install?

Anything "better" on the market that I should also consider?

Any other downsides before I order one?

Thanks Glock buddies!

If you have issues with the slide not locking back with extended ones you'll probably have issues with the vickers. I have one and it is awesome for CCW stuff because it doesn't have any large bulges to hang up on stuff. It is very easy to use and I consider it an improvement over stock.

This is a good point.  Have to consider my own grip on the gun.  Thanks.

The "standard", non-extended SLIDE STOP LEVERS work fine for me.

I'm In the process or "relearning" my grip so I don't hold down the slide stop all the time.

I like the Vicker's slide release on my guns that I CCW. I'm not a fan of the factory extended unit for CCW.

I have been looking at this as well, I like the LWD extended slide stop and have it on one of my glocks but really like the slide stop on my M&P, and from what I have read the vickers stop is shaped much like the M&P. I have never had a glock lock open prematurely due to my grip so thats not an issue.

I just installed one and so far love it. I just put it on yesterday so I haven't had a chance to shoot it but the weekend is near and I am sure I will get out with it.

Do you use it for any administrative acts other than locking the slide to the rear? Like sending the slide home on a reload? If not, Tom Givens showed me on his carry G35 that he actually cuts the slide stop down. He removed the little tab and just leaves a small portion of it. Big enough to lock the slide to the rear, etc. but not big enough to accidentally engage it with your grip. Kind of like this.

Dan, I was having the same issue and the Vickers slide stop solved the problem for me.  It's the best slide stop available IMO, just enough to get on it but slim and tucked in like the non extended factory stop.  Made by Tango Down so quality is excellent, obviously.  I've put one on every Glock I own.
