How do you like the sights? The fiber optic front sight would be great for daytime shooting, but I am probably going to swap it out for a night sight. I have a Trijicon front NS that looks like the same height as the fiber optic sight, but I really want to shoot it first to see where my point of impact will be. I prefer a 6 o'clock hold at 25 yards but can live with a point of aim point of impact. I may end up ordering a Trijicon HD orange front sight with the green center NS dot. I had a set of HD's on my G21 and loved them, I am digging the Wilson/Vickers rear sight so far, so it will most likely stay on there. I personally don't need a NS on the rear but do prefer one on the front. I hope that answers your question and helps you out. I really really like the Gen3 RTF Frame:) |
| If I do go buy the Vickers Gray G19 I will definitely put night front sight on it and may leave the G17 with a fiber optic. The only part of the Vickers G17 I didn't care much for is the slide release, I prefer and installed a factory GLOCK extended slide release. The extended Vickers magazine release is great! I have owned a bunch of GLOCK's in the last 28 years including a couple of Gen 4's I feel the Vickers with the RTF Gen 3 frame is the best out of all of them. |

I really really like the Gen3 RTF Frame:) I have the vickers front and rear night sights on a gen 4 17. At first I was apprehensive of them as I have used trijicons on all my other Glocks. After getting used to them I actually like them. |
| Get a Gen4 and customize it the way you want. I never got into buying a pistol customized the way a shooting personality wants. Plus you pay a premium for the extras which you can do yourself. So unless you want the colored frame and the RTF2 texture I would get a Gen4. |

IMHO the vickers are not really worth what they bring. Really the rely on 3 parts for the extra cash sights( fiber optic not tritium), mag release (simple and cheap), slide release (see previous item). Most of us change these parts on pir guns anyway so why not buy a standard fun and put night sights and whatever other upgrades you want on it. That and the fact that personally I chop my Glocks ;) I would take my chopped 17 with warren tactical sights and other upgrades over a vickers any day. And I have much less in it. http://i629.photobucket.com/albums/uu14/badasszx3/Mobile%20Uploads/2016-01/5EEBCD84-46DC-4313-A63F-FC69833E3AA5_zpslkelvsrr.jpg I am not sure where or how you come up with 3 parts for the extra money? Below is a list of everything that came with my Vickers G17. I paid 100.00 more for my Vickers G17 than what a standard Gen 3 G17 cost. My dealer gets 499.99 for a standard G17 in Black, I paid 599.99 for my Vickers G17. I sold my standard black G17 to buy the Vickers G17, so what did I get for a 100.00? I got the RTF frame that has the best feel of any GLOCK I have owned in the last 28 years. Currently the Vickers G17&19 is the only way to get that frame that I know of. I got the gray frame color which just about matches my Magpul Stealth Gray Furniture on my Spikes/BCM AR. I also got the tango down/vickers extended mag release, I really like it! I got the extended slide release, I'm not real impressed with so I installed a factory GLOCK extended slide release that I already had on hand. And I got a tango down/vickers frame grip plug/ take down tool in one and two tango down gray magazine base pads. and the Wilson Combat/ Vickers front and rear sight set, I really like the rear sight, and I have owned a lot of different sight sets for GLOCK's I have some Trijicon I dot sights and Warren Tactical sights I am not using currently but see no reason to change the rear sight, but I might replace the front fiber optic sight with the Trijicon night front sight and leave the Wilson/Vickers on the rear. I am very happy with what I got for the extra 100.00 the sight set alone is a 90.00 value. I guess it is all in the eyes of the beholder as to if you think it's a deal or not. |

I've thought about the Vickers as I like the color and love the texture, but the slide release and the sights I don't care for. Those two things plus the additional cost hold me back. Only thing you'd need to change is the sights then, because the slide release doesn't come installed. I *love* my RTF's. Just got them recently, and absolutely love the texture. |

Guess I could sell the sights on EE. I really love that texture. |

3 parts are slide release, mag release, sights, no I do not think fiber optic sights are worth $90 when I can get warren tacitical somilar for $70 Then don't think about it as paying 90 for sights. You're paying 90 for the textured frame and you can sell the sights. |

3 parts are slide release, mag release, sights, no I do not think fiber optic sights are worth $90 when I can get warren tacitical somilar for $70 You left out the upgraded RTF Frame which is only available with the Vickers G17&19 The slide has the much better Tennifer rough finish on it, which is only available on the Vickers G17&19 You also left out the 2 Vickers magazine base plates and grip plug/takedown tool in one that also comes with the package. As far as the sights go the price I posted is what they cost from Wilson Combat 49.95 for the rear and 39.95 for the front plus S/H I have Warren Tactical sights sitting in my bench drawer, they are good sights but I prefer the rounded Wilson rear sight. The fiber optic front sights are pretty much the same sight, I believe I paid around 85.00 for my Warren sights. As I stated before value is the opinion of the buyer and I feel the extra 100.00 was well worth it for everything you get. I sold my 6 month old Gen3 G17 to buy the Vickers G17 I wouldn't have done it if I didn't feel it was worth it. |

I would be tempted by the Vickers edition depending on how much more they want for it and how much you like the upgrades it comes with?
Gen3 RTF2 frame (grey) < I like that very much Vickers Tactical TangoDown slide catch < I prefer the factory extended slide catch but would still prefer this one over the standard factory lever Vickers Tactical TangoDown mag release < I install these on all my Glocks so cool Vickers Tactical TangoDown magazine base plates < Don't care Vickers Tactical TangoDown All-new grip plug w/ integral disassembly tool < I care even less about this Wilson Combat Vickers Elite sights w/ fiber optic fronts < Not my first choice but I could probably sell these for enough to cover the cost of the sights I prefer So over all, I'd be willing to pay an extra $100 for the Vickers edition. |

Just tossed a cpl hundred down on the Vickers 17, compared all three at the same time and just couldn't say no... You will not be disappointed. Did you feel the texture? Oh yes...And I really like the sights also, both were a big factor. |

RecoilSensitive Love to hear more about how you like the chopped down G17. I have a used gen 2 with a divot missing out of the bottom part of the grip. I've considered chopping it but wonder how it "handles". Have you posted any reviews of your experiences on ARFcom? Thanks |
