TLR-1.

I have a TLR-2 and really like it, only difference is the 2 has a laser (da beamz, yo).

And a nice light for the money, It's very compact and as bright as their PT1L.

Enough light out to about 150 feet. Not too bright indoors, so you don't have it reflect back at you, and fits smaller frames.

I put it on my wifes pistol since mine has a TRL1.

I run a TLR3 on my Glock 23 and love it. Great little light.

What is the brightest light w/o a laser for a pistol?

Stick with the older TLR 1 is possible. No need to run with the brightest light possible. Brighter is NOT better.

Dunno, I assume we are going to talk about LED models. Surefire's X300 and X400 run at 170 lumens. I have a TLR-3 and an X400. The 90 lumen TLR-3 is sufficient for HD use. The X400 is good for use outdoors. It really depends on what your end use for the weapon light will be. Too bright and you get a flashbulb effect on your eyes. You really only need 50 lumens in pitch black to blind someone, but ideally 70-90 lumens. Most of the high lumen models are engineered to give a tight spot beam and a large generous spill which is why they have high lumens.
