NO.
First the .38 S&W is a shorter, fatter cartridge with a larger diameter bullet. Some revolvers like the S&W Victory revolvers we gave Britain in WWII were brought back to the US and the importers reamed the cylinders out to .38 Special. They shoot, but they're not accurate due to the smaller diameter .38 Special bullet, and second, the smaller diameter cases split in the larger diameter .38 S&W cylinder. Last, as above, most guns made for the low pressure .38 S&W are NOT SAFE with the high pressure, far more powerful .38 Special. |
