Anyone have both pistols where you could weight them and see the weight difference? Is the difference worth the less strong frame?

For most practical purposes -- the alum. frame is strong enough. If your going to put many, many, many rounds through it steel has it's advantages. But alum will last a long time, more rounds than most really will ever shoot.JMO

It's been a while since I had them, but IIRC the difference was about 10 ounces.  The LW frame is plenty sturdy, and is the way to go if you are using it for CCW.  For general shooting, however, I'd go with the steel frame to help reduce the recoil a bit.

If you're going to be carrying it in a holster, the alloy frame is most definitely worth it.

That ten ounces feels a lot heavier than it looks.
