It was doing good up to 200 rounds after that I started getting FTEs left and right (common problem) I should of bought the shield ......
Calling beretta Monday |
| I just back from the range with my father. He's got a new Nano and been experiencing the FTEs with WWB. It can't be the underpowered ammo or limp wristing since there's enough recoil to cycle another round (the new round gets stuck between the slide and expended bullet. I'm inclined to think it was the extractor but until I see the same problem with a different brand I won't say for certain. |

Yes this is a big issue with the Nano and beretta refuses to take a stand a fix it!! I sent mine out twice once I get it back I'll put another 250 rounds through it and if I have one FTE I'm asking for my money back |

It is but all the other good guns will cycle ANY AMMO!!! Look at Glock shield XDS all in the same price point all cycle "crap" plinking ammo I have 1100 through it |

Either sell your pistol, or switch to a different range load. Plenty of high quality pistols will choke on certain loads, sometimes with no rhyme or reason. |
| I have read about this and I know that Beretta had told a few people that the gun is designed to use a minimum of 124. I have never had any type of malfunction. A few hundred rounds of 124 and 147 grain HST hollow points and almost 1000 rounds of ball a pretty even mix of 115 and 147. I carry it with 124 grain HST and I trust it with my life. |
| I fired 900 rounds through mine just hoping it would finally work but there were too many malfunctions so I sold it. Good riddance. Without the ability to lock the slide back it was awkward to clear malfunctions. Really wanted it towork but it didn't. Glad to hear some of them work. |
I would SEND IT BACK TO BERETTA IMMEDIATELY to get yours looked at under warranty if you are having the FTE problems. EDIT: NVM, i just noticed how old this thread was.
haven't had an issue with mine. shoots 115 grain PMC, 115 grain remington, 124gr American Eagle, 124gr hornady, and 147gr remington golden saber just fine. it also ate some steel wolf or tula (just a handful) of loose rounds I had, and even a couple rounds of lacquer coated surplus. Hell, two of the steel surplus rounds I fired were dropped into a mud puddle before firing, wiped them off just enough to make sure I wouldnt cause any barrel obstructions/dangerous shooting. I have yet to try Winchester White Box 115s yet, just because no one has had them in stock, but I am more than willing to try. I've been quite happy with it and after 400-450+ rounds through it without a hiccup with all sorts of ammo (FMJ or JHP, brass or steel, 115/124/147). I had a friend shoot it once the day I bought it(maybe second or 3rd mag through the gun ever) and he loaded it up with 115gr PMC. it had 1 FTE failure when he limp-wristed it. I wasnt concerned, gun had less than 30 rounds through it on a gun which w as supposed to eat 124gr or heavier. I was honestly surprised he didn't drop the gun when it went off because his grip was so loose... guess he wasnt expecting any force out of a pocket gun serial 022XXX, if that makes a difference. I did some research before I bought the gun and new it had the potential to be a "problem gun". I contemplated polishing the feed ramp and chamber prior to even shooting it the first time, but I was worried it would effect the 3 year warranty (1+2 from Beretta). I'm happy I didn't polish anything, because it has been very good to me as is. Guns I was contemplating when I was buying the nano was the: - G26 (not a pocket gun, and is much wider, so not exactly the same "class" as a pocket pistol) - decided against it due to lack of availability (i was planning on buying a the gun the day after Sandy hook just by chance and when SHTF all the glocks left the shelves) -Shield 9mm - wasn't in stock -LCP: a little too small, wasn't impressed with how it "felt" in my hands -LC9: nice size, but same as the LCP with the "feel" issue of the grip and ergonomics -Kahr and Keltec equivalents would have been considered if the dealer had them in stock. the beretta nano is awkward, the trigger goes on for close to a mile, it is snappy, but I definitely love it. It is also great for armadillo hunting
