What if you were in a convience store trying to decide between Coke and Pepsi and an armed bandit crashed through the door demanding money from the clerk. What would you do and how would you do it? -YJ BTW before you go into a convience store do you look inside to see how the people inside are acting? Quite a few LEO's and innocent civilians have walked into an armed robbery in progress because they weren't paying attention. It's a good way to get yourself shot if you're wearing a badge. |
I would probably be more shocked if the guy who was demanding money had no arms. I mean everyone is "armed" right? how would a guy with no arms take the money? ![]() J |
He could use his teeth! Also he'd look more like an IDPA target!!! LOL |
Nah, I'd rather drink water!-YJ |
Depends on who's pulling the trigger. Haven't seen a bird not stop after being hit with 230gr JHP! Actually haven't seen too much of the bird after being hit with one!Think contact distance, I think the worms and snakes would be better 'armed' with .45s much easier to manuver than Mossbergs!. They probably couldn't even see nor smell a bird beyond 10ft. I think this maybe why the 'tunnel rats' in Vietnam carried .45s much of the time. |
Not the snakes around here. Besides ve have vays of dealing vif snakes. (Enter the Mossberg or .45) |
Agreed. I'm not going to risk dieing over money. Especially someone elses money. If lives were threatened, that would be a different matter. ==Bob |
| Maybe we could get a peace accord with the worms and they can take care of all of our bad guys?h.gif |

Wow. With just seconds to decide, my hardwiring would probably have me drop to all fours behind a shelf and sneak toward the door, and escape ASAP. Now, I know that's not the chest-thumping ARFCOMER thing to do, but I'd like to pass my genes on and my instinct is self preservation so I can provide for my wife and child. Twist: If I could not evade/escape, I'd probably hope he just left withoug shooting. Not much you can do at gunpoint - since I am an attorney in court almost every day, I just can't take advantage of my concealed carry permit...(sad, I know, but what can I do...) I noticed recently that I do size up every person in a store, everyone coming in, etc. I may even fail to be subtle about it which I imagine would be a mistake. Great question - we all need to decide ahead of time what we would do If these things happen. |

I think the best thing to do in this scenerio is to just let the bandit take the register money and leave... The $50 that the clerk has in the drawer is not worth killing anybody, and not worth getting anyone else killed... However I would be taking as many mental notes as possible to be as useful as possible to the police afterwards... including possible tag numbers of whatever get-away car the bandit uses. Remember what Richard Marcinko says... Any action is better than inacton, but sometimes taking no action is the boldest action of them all. Now if the bandit came in and started shooting people (highly unlikely) then of course I would defend myself... but usually stick-up men will wait until the store was empty before pulling his gun and snatching the money. |
