What is the different generations of glock mean 1,2,3 I have A glock 19 keep hearing mention too 1st gen. 2nd. 3th gen can I tell by serial# any problems with one or the others need help thank you

The visual differences are in the frame.

1st gens are smooth.

2nd gens have checkering.

3rd gens have finger grooves, early ones didn't have the accessory rail.

The newest 3rd gen also have the third pin in the block in 9mm like the .40.
