I just tested my Kimber trigger and it is 5lbs 12oz

Want to have it lightened up a bit but not sure what the 1911 experts is a good carry weight..

Thanks

The quality of the trigger job is pretty important, too.

All my 1911's are just a little over 4# they break so clean they feel much less.

Is it new? It will lighten and smooth out some with use. Shoot it for a few hundred rounds before you you start fixing what ain't broken. If you already have " broken it in "  and feel the need for change, then I concur that 4-5 lbs. is the ballpark to be in.

3 - 3.5 for me.

4# seems to be the magic number. Some preach below it and 5 is too heavy IMO. My CCW comes in at 3.5# and it suits me rather well.

Stock for me, don't know what it is but it works and I don't want to goof with it.

I wouldn't want anything lighter than 4#

I am with you. I good crisp trigger is a beautiful thing.

I won't have a carry gun trigger less than 4lbs. With a good trigger job a 4 lb trigger will feel much lighter and any lighter won't do any better.

4-6lb -   feel/crispness >> pull weight.

The pull weight will probably come down if you rework it for feel anyway.
