So guys whats my collection missing.  My dad asked me about what I'd like for Christmas, I won't have him pay for the whole thing but maybe part of another gun.

Sig P6
Sig P6
H&K P7 Grade A
H&K P7 Like New
H&K USPc 9mm
Beretta 92FS
Glock 19
S&W 67 38spl
1911 .45 homebuild
1911 9mm homebuild (work in progress)

Not bad for a 21yr old college student , granted one of the P6 and P7's are my dads as is the 9mm 1911.  The rest are mine .

The only thing on there I think I'm missing is a snubby 38 for pocket carry.  The USPc is my main carry, and the G19 is a stand in.  The only other thing I can think of asking for is a conversion kit for the G19 and/or 1911 (I've got a few forgings I could make into a dedicated gun).  I don't really want to branch out from the calibers I already have (9mm, 38spl, and 45).

My suggestions would be S&W M&P and the J-Frame as you mentioned.

Taurus #608, 8rnds of .357 mag and maybe something in .454 Casull

Only several thousand types of firearms.  I mean, the objective is to get one or more of each, right?

If you don't want to branch out from the calibers you already have, I suggest the following:

A .357 Magnum revolver (you can shoot .38 Spcl out of it)
A small J-frame
A high-capacity .45 like the XD or something similar
Either a Sig P226 or a Sig P228
A .22 pistol or revolver so a single range session doesn't put force you on the Ramen noodle diet for a month (this is branching out).

LOL this is probably make you guys go , but the only gun in 45 that I will ever own is a 1911.  I've shot polymer 45's and they're just not the same to me, 9mm I have no issues with in a polymer frame.

I've toyed with the idea of getting a 686 in the past, might look into it a bit more.  Though if I got a small J-frame it would for certain be in 38 and probably a lighter weight model.

If Sig's quality hadn't gone downhill lately I would have considered a 228/229.  Even if I found an older one, I'm not really sold on Sig's as far as their layout.  Don't get me wrong, they're great guns and I love my P6...but I've never really warmed up to it.

I'll have to look into the 22LR kits, would be nice to shoot for virtually nothing.

Any Sig P228 will be from an era of unquestionably high QC. I'm just sayin'

I am a 1911/45 guy too, but my daily carry gun is a M&P 45 Compact for a reason. I've fired Glocks and XDs in 45, they don't do it for me, but the M&P is a different animal.

Your collection is missing consistency.

Sooner or later you're going to figure out that you like a few platforms, and you're going to stick with them.

My suggestion is you think long and hard about what you really want and like, sell the shit you don't need, and put your money into something you can use.

This is coming from a 23 year old who at one point had 2 MK23's and nearly every other handgun under the sun.

My 9mm's are Glocks, because after trying EVERYTHING, I haven't found anything that does 9mm better.

My 45's are HK's and 1911's.  Because every trying everything, I haven't found anything that does .45 better.

Obviously what you choose will differ, but eventually you're going to realize the best "collection" is the one you shoot the best, that you can use effectively for their intended purposes.

Oh yeah...but before you do all that, get yourself a damn .22

You need a .22 - Ruger or Buckmark.

Maybe look at a BHP or CZ-75.

Yep, get a .22 or two.  I've been shooting for years, but never had any .22 pistols until this summer.  They are so much fun and they made the single biggest improvement in my shooting in years.

But screw the conversions. You can buy a Ruger Mark II for not much more than a conversion. Get yourself a trigger/hammer/sear package and some grips and you're good to go.

You are certainly doing better at this stage in your life than I did.

A good .22 is always good. I like Ruger MK IIIs and S&W 617s and 63s.

Consider a .357 revo and then a .44 or .45 revo. I like my S&W 686SSR and 627PC in .357, and my .44 and .45 Colt are Redhawks.

Since you have a 1911 in .45 ACP, consider a revo in .45 ACP. I really like my S&W 625.

You might want to consider a single action revo. I favor Ruger New Model Blackhawks. I really like my 5 1/2" SS .45 Colt with a .45 ACP cylinder. .45 ACP in a single action is really a kick.

ok so you guys think the conversion kits are pointless to get?  I figured they'd be nice to replicate the controls on the real guns and get more trigger time on them.  I've not settled 100% on the USPc being my carry gun, I just need to warm up to the G19 first.  Thats one reason why I was thinking about getting an AA conversion kit for the G19.  Figured I'd also get one for the 1911's since I could make it into a dedicated gun, I've got the frame/forging completed and a mix-n-match of the small parts already.  I just need a few things and it could be up and running.

I probably will standardize on certain guns eventually, but I also want to have a collection of different ones to have some variety (lol that's the reason why I got the P7 it was unique and different).  I'd say that only 2 of those guns I will use for CCW, the 19 and the USPc, the rest are range toys.

a 45ACP revolver isn't a bad idea, I've heard that they're a pretty sweet gun to shoot.  I do need to increase the size of my revolver collection.  I got that model 67 as an impulse buy because it was fairly cheap and I wasn't sure if I'd like wheel guns....turns out I almost like them more then semi's

How about a single action revolver or a 7.62X25 handgun?

7.62X25 is an awesome caliber. Fun to shoot, loud as a naval deck gun, and dirt cheap. The only problem in that your options are limited, the guns that house it are the CZ52, and the TT33 (I can't think of any others, correct me if I'm wrong). Another plus is that they're both "budget" priced guns. The CZ52 is around $150, while the TT33 is around $300.

Good luck deciding, make sure to post pics of whatever you get!

You need a Browning Hi-Power 9mm.

After that I'd ad a Sig Mosquito for your .22lr needs.

Then maybe a Ruger Blackhawk in .357 magnum

I got to agree a .22 pistol is the way to go.  It is a way to have cheap fun without getting in too much trouble.  I got myself a Ruger MKIII Hunter recently and now a S&W Model 41 waiting for me at the FFL until my permit is approved.

how much ammo do you have for all them guns?

with out ammo they are just pretty paper weights.

and I mean 1000"s of rounds per caliber.

and I don't see any rifles on your list.

how are you fixed for spare parts and mags?

I know all this is boring, but it's the responsible way in regard to owning firearms.

I'm somewhere in the neighborhood of 6K 9mm and 4k 45.  38 I'm shy on but I'm going to start reloading it for plinking ammo since it's dirt cheap to reload compared to buying it now.  I have at least 5 mags per gun (despite all the mag whores I feel fine with 5), all high caps.  As far as spare parts, I have springs for the guns on order.

Rifles I didn't bother to list since I'm asking about pistols .  I'm trying to figure out what to put on my Christmas list for my parents since they've been bugging me about it.  I don't want to tell them to write me a check since I know they'll write it for way to much, I'd rather have them chip in on something instead of buying it outright.

LOL....some of you didn't read the OP.  I don't want to get any different calibers at this time, these are the calibers I currently have....

9mm

38 special (would consider 357 but it'll shoot 38's for 98% of it's life)

45 auto

The only exception to that is 22LR

Right now I'm thinking about buying a 642 no lock off of a member here.  I want to get a snubby for pocket carry/BUG.  I'm toying with the idea of building another 1911 for myself, though if I do I'm probably gonna get a doner gun this time instead of building it up from parts.

Conversion kit (.22LR) for the 1911s or a S&W 686. You could use a .357 mag.

Which kit though?  I was thinking about going with AA since they have LSHO, but I've heard reviews that they don't really work 100% of the time.  If that's the case I might just go with something else for a conversion kit.  I do want to get an AA kit for my G19

I hear AA is one of the better ones. I have a Ceiner and so far it's been good. I can't say it always runs 100%, but that's only when it gets pretty filthy. I never expect 100% reliability out of any .22 pistol or conversion kit. They aren't defensive wepons, IMO, so I just have fun with them.

Glock 26. More rounds then a snubbie and you get mag interchangeability with the G19. I would also consider a G34 or 17 for an out and out tactical pistol. The G19 for a daily carry, the G26 for a hot weather/outdoor activity gun or back up and the G17 or 34 for a SHTF sidearm. Buy a bunch of G17 mags and you are set. If I carry my G26, I only carry G17 mags for reloads. I only buy G17 mags. I don't buy G26 or G19 mags. No sense in losing capacity.

I'm not much of a fan of baby glocks, they just don't fit my hand and feel really awkward even with a bigger mag in them.  That's not the case with the snubby, which just fits my hand better.  I've thought about getting a G17 or G34, but I can't really see the 17 filling a role my 19 can already fill.  The 34 would be great for competition or range use, but I have yet to try competition so I can't really justify the purchase just yet.  In all honesty I'd sooner get another G19 then the 17/34.
