| I'm wanting to get a host for a Pac-lite 4.5" barrel and suppressor. Which ruger should I get? Are there any differences between the mk 1, 2, 3 for the frame and triggers? I'm probably going to get used to save a few bucks. |

Mark 3 and the 22/45 have last round bolt hold open features and drop free mags which are nice. I got a Mark I lower for free so my choice was obvious! :) I'm very happy with it and the pac lite upper.
Now if my silencerco sparrow would just get approved........ |

The Mk2 has a bolt hold open too.
One that actually closes the bolt when you slingshot, unlike the Mk3 22/45 which more or less requires you to press the slide stop switch to send the bolt forward. Seriously, there isn't even a spring in there that drops the slide stop switch, it's detented so you have to manually drop the thing. The Mk2's slide stop switch just politely slides out of the way when you retract the bolt. The Mk3 also has that awful magazine safety, which causes function/reliability issues as well as the loaded chamber indicator, which causes function/reliability issues (but this is neither here nor there for you, seeing as how you just want a donor lower). Oh, and the mags don't drop free on the 22/45. |
