I'm about to send my Springfield GI to Springfield's custom shop to get the defense package and get rid of those tiny GI sights. I can't decide which sights to get installed though. I'm considering: Novak low mount carry Heinie low mount carry MMC Adjustable. I do not want black sights and the Springfield Custom Worksheet is not clear on whether these are black, white dot, white bar, etc... Any suggestions? Thanks! |

is this for carry or what? the Novaks and Heinies are both great sights for a carry gun... i wouldn't recommend adjustable sights for a CCW. heinies rear sights bother me in certain lighting conditions though... it's hard to explain... i've found that i shoot better with plain black sights in the rear and dot sight in the front (for carry usually a tritium dot)... this is more of a personal preference. 3 white dots tend to be too distracting for me and slower on target b/c i spend too much time trying to line up all the dots... my brain acts weird... leveling out the front and rear sight and centering the front sight seems to be more "natural" if that makes any sense... |

| I have a SA Professional with the Novaks. They were a huge PITA when I took a class with Farnam and we did one hand drills. They are truly no snag sights. I now order guns with either the Heinie, Yost or 10-8 sights. I want to make sure that I can catch the sights on the holster, my boots, pants pockets, etc...when doing different drills. |
