I currently have a Beamshot 1000 laser w/weaver rail mount on my M&P. Looking to replace it with a light. My budget is going to be around whatever I can sell the laser for. I'm guessing I can sell the laser & mount for about $50.

What do you suggest?

M3 is a decent light.

TLR-1 is a great light as is the X300, better to save until you can get one of them.

$50 is a little low for a acceptable light. A Streamlight TLR-1 is a very good light that can be found for around $90. The older M3 is acceptable if you can find one cheaper ($50-70). The Insight Procyon is my choice and is around $125. Don't waste your money on a crap chinese knockoff.

I had to buy a TLR-1 for a holster I was making for a customer.  I found mine used on backpage for $65.  It's the newer C4 LED as well.

I have the Surefire X300.  Awesome light, though it appears to be way out of your price range at $200.  I also really like the Streamlight TLR-1, especially if funds are tight.  The difference between a quality light and a piece of crap is not that much money, but there is a heck of a lot of difference in quality.
