it's a revolver but in a stretch it qualifies and I never posted her here.  I just got this recently, last month iirc, and haven't had a chance to shoot it but it's already earned an heirloom status.  It's a Ruger Single Six Convertible .22lr/.22mag Talo exclusive that I had searched for for years.

I own a 5 1/2" Single Six convertible.  Everyone handgun shooter should own a Single Six at some point in their life.

----

As for the "pistol" versus "revolver" debate, prior to GCA 68 it was common to call revolvers "pistols".    GCA 68 set forth a points requirement for the importation of handguns and defined two categories with separate minimums and point criteria - one for "pistols" and another for "revolvers".  Consequently, they had to define the terms "pistol" and "revolver".

A revolver under the GCA 68 legal definition is any handgun with a rotating cylinder.  A pistol underGCA 68 is any handgun that does not have a revolving cylinder.

In that regard, my advice is not to worry about a strictly legal definition some attorney wrote for the GCA 68 definition and call a Single Six what it is - a rimfire pistol AND a rimfire revolver.

All handguns are still pistols, and some handguns are also revolvers.

I actually just searched the definition of "pistol" because I always thought it to refer to auto-loading handgun, but apparently not
