How much has it been affected by the current buying frenzy? Anyone know?
I'd planned on ordering one before the current gun frenzy started. I'm not too interested in waiting for more than 4 months for one of their standard 1911's. |

First, thanks for the interest in our 1911's. First, the good news is that our 1911 delivery times have not been severely effected by the current political situation. The bad news is that we were already swamped with orders for our 1911's before the current craziness( we are experiencing the strongest demand in our history). If you need to get one of our 1911's in your 4 month timeframe, I suggest checking with some of our dealers. If you are willing to wait, we will be more than happy to take your individual, custom order. Wait times for these orders vary greatly, based on component availability, and are best discussed directly with someone in the sales dept., but delivery times between 1 and 2 years are not uncommon at this time. |

That's a bummer. Ive been thinking bout a supergrade lightweight professional since its exactly what ive been searching for but two years is toooooo long. I know its worth it but cant wait that long. |

Just to give you an idea how much things have changed in 35 years or so...
I had a Wilson built back when there was only one gunsmith. His name was Bill Wilson. The lead time was about a week because he still had a day job. I dropped off a NIB Colt 70's series and picked it up the next week. Spent a few hours with Bill. Shot it in a bowling pin match the same night in St. Louis. This all occured sometime around 1980. I shot it until the frame cracked...

After they were available, yes. We shot alot of pins and heavy loads. I shot that pistol for close to 20 years and I am guessing 100,000 rounds. I wore out a Dillon Square Deal press in the process. |
