Decided my life would never be complete without replacing my G20SF, so I went to the funshow and found...

Anyone know where one might find a duty holster for such a critter?

One of these days I'm gonna get one of those.

It's an interesting gun. Freakin' heavy, but lots of really loud bullets

I've ordered a pair of mags from EAA (cheapest I found, strangely enough, $50/pair) and I'll be ordering a .40 barrel next payday so I can shoot cheap/easily acquired practice ammo. The .22 kit would be nice, too.

Cool! Sounds like you'll be set up.

For some reason I was thinking you could shoot .40S&W through the standard 10mm barrel? Maybe I heard wrong. Could have just been a "gun store expert" I heard that from.

Anyway, I would think that with full power 10mm loads the extra weight will be a good thing for eating up some of the kick.

I'm planning on carrying it on duty, so the extra weight isn't such a great thing, but I'm a big boy, so it wasn't a deal breaker. There was a 10mm Witness P sitting right next to mine on the table. The steel frame is just much sexier.

Ok, here's the deal. It's technically possible to put .40 in a 10mm and blast away, and I've done it with a G20SF, but the conversion barrel is $85, will be much more accurate, and is obviously the right way to do it. That said, I will more than likely load a few light .40 rounds and try it. Good news is that the Witnesses have cut rifling instead of polygonal like a Glock, so hard cast bullets are good to go. I have a couple hundred 155 gr. LRNs waiting for the right load. Not so great for hot 10mm loads, but perfect for .40 plinking ammo.

Cool! Sounds like that's gonna be a really nice setup.

At only $85, that barrel does sound worth doing. I hadn't really thought about it before, but I would imagine that .40's fired from a 10mm chamber would really suffer accuracy wise. I'm glad you brought the subject up, 'cause I'll eventually want to do the same thing. Do you have a link to a place where they sell the barrels?

Now that they've switched to the large frame for everything all you need to change calibers is a mag, slide, and barrel. The kits are $225. But since .40 and 10 have the same head it just takes a barrel. Here's the place that has it for $85:

EAA has them, too, but for about $100.

I emailed Blade-Tech about a duty holster, I'll post what I learn when they reply.

Ok, more info. No luck at Blade-Tech, so I'm going to make my own holster and scavenge parts from a Safariland I have sitting around. Got my mags from EAA today and they goofed and sent 3 instead of 2. All are 15 rnd, blue, marked 10mm, and have the Tanfoglio emblem (T in a triangle, same thing that's on Baby Eagle mags). I'm short on time today, but plan on calling them tomorrow so they can charge me for the 3rd mag. More later, gotta go talk to the chief about a badge

i did some digging around and it appears that Fobus makes holsters for these guys...

Fobus makes something that will work, at least, but nothing level II or higher for duty use. I have leather cut and ready to stitch, just haven't had time to work on it the last couple of days. I'm hoping to get down to the uniform shop next week and they have a pretty good pile of Safariland, so I'll see if they have something that will work. Safariland lists a 6280 and a 6004, but says it's for 9 and 40, so it might be for the small frame. From what I can tell the large and small frames are the same overall length with differences in the grip/magwell area, so it might fit. What I'd like to do is get a 6004 and another female QLS plate, then set up the 6004's thigh platform and the holster to work with the QLS setup I have on my rig and 1911 holster. Swapping guns with that setup takes about 10 seconds. Pull out mags, unlock holster, put in new mags, drop in new holster, go back to work. Really cool system if you don't have to hide your gun.

Loaded the new mags the other day and one didn't feed quite right. The bullet would hit low on the feed ramp and jam pretty easy. Opened the front edge of the lips a bit to raise the front of the case and it's dead on now. So if anyone else has that problem, there's your fix. I had to tune all my Para mags years ago, so I shouldn't be suprised the Tanfoglio mags needed some tuning, too.

My OEM mag did the same thing.   also, the follower or someting isnt right since it hangs too.  I just bought/use some of my CZ97 mags and also got more mecgars.  i may look at it one of these days to see whats going on and try your feed lip tweak.

They have bladetech holsters for the tangs. FTW!

Oh, and watch out for the springs they have, it's a good idea to upgrade the recoil and mags springs.

And watch out on very hot loads there are a few "credible" internet reports of the slides cracking. Personally, i think it's just hating because I've got about 1500 hot loads thru my match 10mm and it's still rocking just fine. Internet BS but the gun will sling brass lllloooonnnggg distance if you do not swap springs.

Good buy!

In the future Reed's Ammo has good prices on mags.

I just got this 9mm small frame. I like the small frames as they fit my hand better, but I really would like to find a 22 kit for it.

Just got my .45 witness with .22 conversion kit.

200 rounds of WWB with no malfunctions. This baby can throw some brass.

I have to find the right .22 to use, because it doesnt care for the winchester super x. Eject, and fed fine, but after a nice deep firing pin hit, it would fail to fire sometimes. I like it. Need to order some mags.

My big frame EAA fits in my sig 229 blackhawk serpa holster. I think that it would fit in one of those, maybe a 226 serpa  holster? I'd stick with either EAA or Mecgar mags for reliability. Of the 10mm handguns I shoot, this is my favorite.

Thanks for the info, I'll check tomorrow and see what I can find.

I polished up the ramp on mine and haven't had any trouble since. It was really sharp when it was new and would hang one evewry three or four mags worth.
