| Ok, so, after putting about 250 rounds through her with no problems, I ran into a huge problem yesterday at the range. Before I went to the range, I cleaned the snot out of this XD. yesterday, It was short stroking so bad it wouldnt eject the empty case, which made me cock it every time I would shoot. the slide would come back far enough to reset the trigger, but wouldnt eject. Anyone else had this problem? |
| Yep, sure have running bottom of powder scale and 185 grain HBRN reloads. That's what I reload for my 1911's. Went to high side of powder load and cycled just fine. Next time I reload for the XD it will be with 200 grain fmj's. The 4" inch service models have a recoil spring made to withstand cannon blasts from +P ammunition. Did you change ammunition ? Assuming it ran fine with the ammunition used prior to cleaning ? Five inch models can be changed to lighter recoil springs, with the four inch that's what you get.... My spring has lightened some since buying new a year ago. It was so stiff when I bought it I put it up for a week with the slide racked trying to lighten it. |
