Thinking about picking up one in 9mm.  Are there any issues with them?  Concerns?

I have the XDm 9mm. Shoots like a dream. Holds 19 plus 1 rounds. The match barrel is very accurate. I can't find anything not to like about this gun.

Do you have the stainless or black slide version?

This is a great pistol. Do not have any fear about buying one. There is one sorta "issue" of which to be aware. When the clip is full or near full there is enough pressure from the spring that the magazine button is hard to press. I need to press upward on the bottom of the clip and press the magazine button to get the magazine to drop. If the clip is empty or even down some rounds, the button drops the clip just fine. In other words, it is a non-issue for a tactical reload. I have an XDm in 9mm and intend to buy another XDm shortly.

This is a problem because the mags are new. In time of use this will go away and the mag button will release like normal.

I have an XDM 9mm with the black slide. It is quickly becoming my favorite gun. It fits so well in my hand and is an absolute pleasure to shoot. My vote is purchase with confidence.

I just bought my first xdm9 this last week and only put about 100 rounds at the farm. i am going out today to shoot at the range for accuracy.  The gun fells great but it seems to have more recoil than my p99 40.

HAve been through several hundred rounds. This gun is more accurate than my Beretta 92fs. Lots of good times there.

I bought my XDm-9 this past sunday and went today and put another 150 rnds. through it,about 400 total and I have no regrets at all for buying this pistol,I'm thinking many years from now "the haters" will want one if they do not have one.

Just got my XDM today, pumped about 200 rounds through it.  What a sweet gun.  Only one complaint, the trigger reset is not anywhere near as good as my glocks (and springfield is boasting of having the best reset with the XDM, which is BS).

I agree my Glocks reset is better, but in Springfields defense,I think they are boasting about the XDm being the best is in fact that the XDm has the best trigger reset of the Springfield line up of handguns. I could be wrong as the XDm is the first Springfield I've ever owned.

Gotta clarify that this only occurs when the slide is "closed".

I had this problem initially, but after ejecting and re-inserting a fully loaded mag ~50 times, it cleared the problem right up.

My advice is to just get one.  If you don't like it, there's enough demand on the market that you can always sell it to someone else.

Alrighty, I'm getting one this weekend, but can't pin down the finish I want.  I could not find any real tech data on the slides other than black melonite and matte stainless.  Is the black melonite slide a blacken stainless slide that has the melonite finish/coating?  Is the matte stainless just that without the melonite coating?

I struggled with the same decision,I went with the OD Green with black melonite slide I think it looks combatish (if thats a word..lol..) the stainlees slides look good to but I'm not a fan of shiny combat pistols.

ALL HAIL THE CROATION CRUSHER- THE XDm!

I love mine, after owning a glock 23 I will never go back from the XD. My XDm 9mm makes my buddy's GK17 look like a Hi Point. Well, the high point has better ergonomics so maybe I'm being a little rough on the Austrians... He's trying to sell his right now to get a Bi-Tone model.

I had the same question and emailed Springfield on it about two weeks ago..I have not received any response as yet...   I'm trying to decide between an XDm and a CZ Phantom.

I noticed with SA, the only true way to contact them would be through the phones.  Not difficult to do and so far I have had great experiences with them.

I bought my XDm .40 about three weeks ago and so far have 150 rounds through it.  I completely love the gun.  The mag release was a bit stiff with a full mag and one in the tube but after almost a month I am noticing that it is loosening up.

I pointed a friend of mine towards the XDM because I like the method of field stripping better than comparable pistols.  It is a beautiful gun and I think that the way it requires you to lock the slide to flip the take down lever is a great feature which will hopefully eliminate "Glock hand".

19+1 is a nice feature as well.

I have not fired it yet, but the trigger is a dream compared to my G17, even with the work I have done.  I am jealous.

I am pretty invested in my Glock so I do not plan on switching or anything, but so far I can't fault anyone who goes with the XDM.  We will see how things go after running a ton of ammo through it.

just got a xdm 9mm this weekend too. i had a 92fs a few years back, and i think i was more accurate with it than the xdm. but i am fairly new to handguns. i have the basic idea down on aim and all but man im only hitting arround 8 rounds of 20 on paper. not trying to thread jack but could i get some tips p.m.'ed to me?

Not meaning to hijack the thread, but how is the recoil on the XDM 40?

Insignificant in my opinion. I have shot several different 9s, 40s, 45s, 44mags etc. and I don't see the snap that everyone complains about with the 40(especially the 45 worshipers).  I wouldn't trade mine for a 9!

The Springfield Armory XD and XDm series 9mm pistols don't care much for bullets that have a COL of 1.169. You will experience issues. Mostly, they hang up inside the magazine.
So when picking your loads, choose accordingly. Or, perform some Voodoo. Loads set back to 1.153 functioned flawlessly.

I put about a 1000 rounds through my XDm since I got it two weeks ago. I'm very impressed with it. Everyone who shoots it loves it. New and old shooters alike. The XDm is probably the cheapest combat pistol I've ever bought, and currently, I like it the best. This spans from an Ed Brown Kobra Carry, Beretta PX4, Beretta Elite II, assorted Glocks and the standard XD pistols in various calibers.

update on my granolacrunchergunnewb and his XDM. He fired 300 rounds of what he said were HSM reman without issue. He also broke in a new 6920 at the same time. He sounded like he just spent a wild night with Salma Hayek and Jessica Simpson.....i.e he was pretty darn happy with them.

I do not like the new grip enough to pay the extra money infact I would buy the old grip or a (gulp) Glock.

If you like the new grip though and do not mind paying the extra $$$ then I would say go for it. I was just looking at some new ones to day and the XD9 Service was $475 new and the XDM was like $625ish or something. I would get another CZ75B first for sure. To each his own though and I am a big XD fan not a hater.

I just recently purchased an XDM9 and here are my issues/concerns:

1.  Even with the large backstrap it feels to small for my hands (perhaps this is due to using glocks)
2.  Felt recoil seems to be more, even though the gun is fairly heavy compared to other polymer handguns.
3.  NO REPLACEMENT PARTS - Need to send the gun in for repairs.

Other then these I find it to be an amazing gun.

-Accurate barrel
-Amazing finish
-Great color choices
-Front slide serrations
-Natural pointing
-19+1

No replacement parts is the only thing that really makes me furious.  I wouldn't expect anyone to want to send in their gun for a week to be repaired.  The chances of it going down are probably slim but I still dont like it.

Well, picked up one in 9mm.  Didn't know which finish to get, but when I got to the dealer, they just sold the lst stainless, so I got the black melonite finish.  Paid under six bills for LE gun w/ three mags out the door.  I also picked up four mags a week prior for $28 each.  Everywhere else I saw them, they were asking $38.    Feels really slim.  I picked up my G19 and noticed that the grip was fat.  That's funny, because that fit my hand very well.

Haven't fired it yet.  Next weekend.  X300 fits like a glove.  Called Spingfield, looks like they use the same recoil spring weight for the 9mm and the .40.  Nineteen rounds in the mag is comforting, but that rattle is annoying.

I'm refering to the magazine fully loaded to 19 rds and inserted into the XDM.  The rounds move fore and aft due to spring compression/mag tube.  Normal, no big problem.

Just picked mine up, too. I ran about 120 rounds through it today, feels great and very accurate. I can't wait till nice weather and no rain to try it on paper. I was shooting plates at 50 yards and doing good. 25 was a breeze every time.

With the mag in one hand strike the other hand with the rear side of the mag (side that displays round count) and the rounds will settle in then no rattle no more.

Works for the XDm's I have in both 40 and 9 bump bottom then bump back a couple times each. when the mags were new I'd sometimes have to take a round out then bump it before I topped it off.

Just got my XDM back from Springer Precision.  Had them do a trigger job, and its MUCH better now.  The reset is like a Glock, with the trigger pull being a very nice 3lb (give or take).

i am really annoyed with the rattle sound in the magazine

what is up with that

and yes i know how to bump my mag when full to set the rounds

i think if u have less then 8 rounds in it,  it doesnt happen

that is around where the cut is in the mag for the mag release.

i  dont like a gun that makes any noise when i am just casually moving about.
