I am anxiously awaiting an email stating that my XDS is on the way home. I keep checking the other thread about the recall hoping to hear someone say that they have got the news that their XDS is on the way, but it seems to just be full of SA recall hate.
I don't really care how you feel about the recall, but I would like to know when you get yours back so I can get a little head start on the timeline for when I might get mine back. I was not able to send mine back immediately due to a problem finding a FedEx facility, so I know I wont be one of the first. If someone or the mods just think this thread is stupid, please just delete this thread. Otherwise, please just post when you know you are getting yours and when you shipped it back to them. Thanks |
| Your thread is not stupid. I sent my XDs in right after they announced the recall. I called SA last week and they said mine was close to the top of the list. Now that they have a fix and they are steady working on them I hope to have mine back soon. I will let you know when I hear it is on the way. I am not upset with SA about the recall either and I see no reason why folks are getting so mad with them. The gun was made in Croatia and as soon as SA realized a problem they HAVE to announce a recall. I hope to get mine back soon and shoot it then start carrying it again. |

Sent mine out on August 30th received by Springfield that Wednesday and just got my tracking number to be returned should be here this Wednesday. Apparently not being fixed in order just another way SA continues to screw this up. The guy that received his today is not happy. Could be BS but said it was dirty as hell and returned in someone else's case all that and a shitty trigger. Yikes |

Yikes That guy's description on the XD forums of the trigger is pretty much how I figured it would come back. I bought my bi-tone 45 used for $450 and I know a place that would easily give me that if it comes back with a crap trigger. ETA: My XDS that arrived on 9/3 still shows as received while 9/4 guns are being shipped already. Did they let them pile up for a couple days and then pull from the top?

My pistol is back. I got the same one I sent them. (serial number matches-saw a rumor that they sent folks the wrong one back)
Overall, pretty much exactly like I sent it to them. The trigger does feel a bit stiffer, but not by a lot. Breaks about as clean as it did before. Let's face it. The trigger wasn't exactly stellar before. It wasn't meant to be a bullseye gun. The new roll pin is in a spot where it sits nearly adjacent to the frame. Hard to actually see it. Got a free magazine. May try to get out and shoot it tomorrow. ETA: Interestingly, since this all started over people being able to rack the slide without depressing the grip safety, causing a double or an AD while loading, I can now rack the slide easily without depressing the grip safety. I couldn't do that before. |

got mine back today with a new mag. overall pretty happy with it. The slide and trigger seem pretty stiff but I hadn't shot it very much before sending it off to get fixed either. Over at the XDTalk forum, I've seen some mixed reviews of the new trigger. Some say stiff, spongy and gritty which I know was not like how the stock trigger was. Others say no difference, but I'm wondering if they even remember how the trigger felt after not having it for over a month and a half. Many bought them and immediately sent them in without ever firing them. |

their website says that mine was fixed and shipped back, however I do not have any emails regarding a tracking number or anything. Are you other guys getting tracking numbers or at least an email saying they sent it? I got the same thing and later that day I got an email with the tracking number. Just have to wait a little bit more. |

They are shipping them out of order. Mine was received Sept 3rd and signed for a 7:38 am. My neighbors was rec. several days after mine, and he got a shipping notice yesterday for his. Hoping mine ships soon. They're fixing and shipping them out of order. Some that showed up at SA on 9/4 have been back in peoples hands for around 4 days now where an XDS like mine showed up on 9/3 and still shows as "received". Hopefully after this is all over SA takes a step back and rethinks their current recall procedure. |

I called SA a little bit ago and the lady told me that hey are working on the Sept 3rd arrivals. Mine was received on Sept 5 and that they are working as quickly as they can to get them shipped out. She seemed bothered by my inquiry.
The way they handled this was just plain stupid and sloppy. They should have planned it so much better. Mine will be placed for sale once it arrives to me. |
|
I received mine today. They received it 9/3, but was not received into their system until 9/4. When I call 10/21 they said 9/4 would be shipped on 10/23.
My gun was returned in the same condition I sent it. Trigger and mag release were the same. The only thing I can see different is the pin, in the safety, and I now have an extra mag & small range box for it. I've got no complaints. They did what they said they would do. |

When I called, the lady basically said everything I mentioned to her about what other people are saying about ship times, dates, gun condition, etc is internet rumor. Basically, unless the info is you shipped your gun in and received it, it's a lie according to the CS rep I talked to. Another Friday here and my 9/3 gun still shows as only received. |

I shipped mine out on Aug 29th a Thursday. They got it on Sept. 3 a Tuesday because Monday was labor day. I will post in here when I get the SA email. Got the email stating it was shipped today 23rd and will get it on Friday the 25th. Got my .45 back this morning. I just came back from shooting 150 rounds of my reloads through it. For the most part it shot fine. The trigger does seem quite a bit heavier then I remember it being. I also noticed that in 1 out of every 20 rounds the ejection would send one straight back towards the right side of my face. I even got hit in the forehead with 1 and it left a half circle in blood on my forehead. lol Also had about 5 rounds that wouldn't fire due to the gun not going back into full battery when loading the next round. I don't know if it has something to do with my reloads or if it's because the gun only has a little over 200 total rounds through it and it's not broken in yet. It never jammed, only thing was the erratic ejection and the gun wouldn't always go into full battery causing miss fires. I will have to shoot it some more before I can decide if I fully like the "upgrade" I can honestly say though before the upgrade it always went into full battery and the ejection was fine. Ate everything I shot through it. |

Here's the newest update with video: http://www.springfieldrecall.com/RecallUpdate.asp From I got out of the video is "We have lot's of guns to repair and we'll update again on Nov. 1st. |

Got mine back today...... The trigger does feel heavier, and my trigger pull gauge measures 7-1/2 pounds. However, I didn't have the gauge when I sent the gun off, so I don't have a before fix measurement.
I'm using a lyman electronic trigger pull gauge, if anyone has one, and a non upgraded XDS for a comparison measurement. |
|
It's a small concealable .45
If you were looking to target shoot with this gun, you bought the wrong weapon. As long as it goes bang when I pull the trigger, I could care less if the trigger is 1/2 lb heavier. You'd never notice it during the stress of actually needing it for self defense anyway. |

http://i.imgur.com/iKZRWlO.jpg I got that when I checked my serial number last night. I did check it early Saturday as well but it still had the "Your gun has been received." It arrived at Springfield Tuesday 9-3. Just checked mine again, as mine was there on the 3rd also, still says only "received" |

Mine returned today... got the exception (DUH, you set it for HOME delivery on a WEEKDAY..) for no 21+ adult sig.. Just drove to the hub on the way home and got it in like 5 minutes.
Now I want to take off tomorrow and run some ammo through it, and test out the new magazine. |

Lots of good replies here. I am glad many of you have gotten you gun back. I am still waiting in "received" status.
Now, how many of you shipped your gun back in its original container, and are you getting your original SA container back. I am hearing of many people getting their gun back in a generic container, but I don't know if they sent it in in a generic box or in their SA box. I will be a bit disappointed to lose my SA box, but it was a great big ole box that had limited other use to it. |
| Got mine (9mm) in last night. Clean, trigger feels the same (from what i remember), but I did have some issues with getting the 7rd mag to go to battery with the same ammo (Critical Defense) I had in it before it left. I bought 300rds of HST while it was gone, will try that later today. Hopefully it just a dry feed ramp or picky about the angle of the Crit Def. |
|
MY XDS 9 came in today after 61 days of captivity by Springfield Armory. The trigger pull is drastically more. I would say a 7-8 lbs pull. However, Springfield Armory did give me a free 9 mm extended magazine. I am taking her to the range tomorrow... Woot, woot....
