Is it safe to dry fire an XD-40?

Is there a de-cocker on them? I was led to believe that most pistols that don't have a hammer, usually has some sort of de-cocker on them, but I haven't seen anything like that in the manual.

Any help?

There is no decocker that I am aware of on mine.

Not sure about dry firing.

No decocker.  Absolutely safe to dry fire.  Dry fire mine every week.

There is a roll pin in the top of the slide that retains the firing pin.  This pin can possibly be damaged over time by excessive dry-firing (though it's not something that ever stopped me from dry-firing).

It's not a huge problem, just something to keep in the back of your mind and inspect every 6 months or so.

Just get some AZOOMS and do not worry about it.
