| Who has one and what do you think?? I've been a 9mm guy but I'm starting to lean toward the dark side!!! I've shot my brothers 4" xd 45 and did well with it. I'm looking into the compact for carry purposes and I like the smaller handle for that reason. I still might add the pinky extension but how does the recoil feel and the overall feel of the carry? Any other info you can provid is great. Also all my xd's have a springer trigger so I would also do that to this 45. Thanks |
| my XD45 compact is good to me...its my home pistol and is very compact for my uses...runns like top so far and i havnt had any issue with picky ammo...eats just about everything i have put through it..not one malfunction.. The recoil is as to be expected out of a 4 inch 45acp, not bad at all and with the proper drip and the basic pistol skills you can get shots on target very fast and just nothing beats 10-13 rounds of 45acp =]....i love my glock 19 aswell btw so im not hatin on the 9mm....but i'll always be a 45 guy at heart |

The Compact should pretty much shoot the same as the Service. As for carry, the shorter grip will make it a little easier to conceal than a full size frame.
I have a Tactical, and my brother has the Compact. Every time I see him, I tell him his Compact is going to disappear. The Compact is at the top of my To Get list. |

Get one; you won't regret it.
As for .45 ACP ammo... good luck. I haven't found any for a reasonable price in a very long time. Walmart never has any. Bass Pro Shop only had hollow points when I stopped by the other day. And buying online is expensive when you add in the shipping. I just can't see paying $0.60 or more per round for range ammo. |
| Just to echo the love, I also have one for my HD weapon and have a Streamlight TLR-2 mounted on it. Put close to 800 rounds thru it without a FTF. I've put everything from reloads to premium ammo through her and she performs like a champ everytime. Easy to field strip and maintain. Two of my buds have purchased XDs (one is a deputy sheriff) because they liked the way mine shot. You won't be disappointed. |

+1 for my 45 compact in a Crossbreed Supertuck.
I switched from a Glock 26 to the 45c. It took a little time to get used to the trigger, but I love it. I would never carry with the 13 round clip in, just way to big to me to carry concealed. The 10 rounder works great. |

Its so much easier to carry the sub becasue of the handle. If I can't do it with 10+1 I'm in trouble? I could carry a backup 10 rd pretty easy? |
| The XD45c has a grip that is only 1/4 inch longer than the XD9sc. The slide is only an inch longer. You should be able to conceal the 45c without much of a problem. The grip may print a bit more, but not to the point where someone will know you are carrying. I have no issues at all and am 6' 185 lbs. I carry my XD45c at 3:00 - 3:15. |
| I've had one for a while now and its a great gun. The thing eats any ammo including wolf, and have yet to have a malfunction in over 1200 rnds. It prints a little depending on what shirt you are wearing, but nothing a decent in the pants holster won't solve. I sent it over to Boresight Solutions to get a grip reduction and it made a great carry gun even better. The grip was trimmed down a hair and the retention was improved with the stipple job. |

I love the way it fits. Mine shoots way low though.
Just messing around, some of us were plinking at clay pigeons about 40 yards away and I had to aim WELL above the target. Hell I'd say 2 feet or so. My other .45's were not an issue. Other than that it is a great piece and I recommend it often. |

XD54C is my daily carry gun & I love it. Sold a Glock 23 to fund the purchase & have never looked back. I've had the XD for about a year and a half now, put a few thousand rounds through it without the first problem. I'm pretty rough on it & outside of showing holster wear & the barrel getting a tad shiny, it's as good as new.
For me it meet's all my CCW requirements. Concealable, striker fired, polymer, 45ACP, light rail, & fine to shoot lead reloads out of when practicing. The only thing I think I'd ever replace it with is a XDM45C if they ever produce one. |
