I ordered an XD-9 ported a few weeks ago. I bought it as mostly a camping plinker, and something my wife wouldn't be intimidated by ( she has a 357 mag she doesn't like). Any opinions on a ported 9mm. Does the porting have much effect with a caliber that light?

I'm not a fan of ported handguns with the single exception of some heavy duty competition models. IMHO, they offer no advantages and lots of dissadvantages. But since you've already ordered it, why ask? Jus take it to the range and see if she likes it.
