Has anyone had any problems removing their front sight off their XD9, I was reading an article which someone stated the stock front sight had to be cut in two to get it off the gun, is it really that hard to do?

| They use a hydraulic press at the factory and they are ridiculously hard to get out unless you use a sight tool. Also, they drive out only one way. They drive out to the left (non ejection side) with the gun pointing away from you and back in the same ..from the left. You can order a tool for about a hundred dollars that is specifically made for XD's. Good luck |

Borrowed a sight tool from a fellow shooter- uni 200L could not make it happen, didn't want to break it because what if I wanted to put it back in one day, not that it's any easier putting it back in from what I hear. Oh well guess I send it to Springfield.

| when i had my sights replaced the first time, SA did it. when i replaced the three dot with xs sights i had my smith do it. i tried and they wouldn't budge, i took it to the smith and told him that and he said something about that have to be "pressed" in, i am not a smith and i didn't stay at a holiday inn express last so i don't know what that means, but he go the xs sights on there. and i will tale my 2nd xd to him when i want those sights changed too. |
