[ARCHIVED THREAD] - XD internal extractor vs external

What are the opinions on the XD's internal extractor?

Is there a benefit to this design versus an external one like Glocks?

Couldn't they have made an external extractor that acted the loaded chamber indicator like on the newer Glocks? Wouldn't this have been more parts efficient?

I was thinking the same thing. I debated just pulling out the loaded chamber indicator because it looks so goofy. I'd fill the space in with something but I'd still be able to just look in the hole and see the case.

i have had zero issues, and i really don't even thik about things like that, the setup they have works so i go with it.
