| Does anyone make an aftermarket trigger for an XD -9. It will be used for an IDPA gun. |
|
Well I got the Springer Precision kit in today.
I can get it to work with the stock trigger bar but not the one supplied with the kit. It acts like there is not enough trigger pull to disengage the striker. I had to reach in and manually disengage the striker to disassemble the gun. Does the trigger bar require filing? right by the spring. |

With it coming in a hair to big was better than a hair to small. With me having to file it to fit my gun, made the most out of the trigger. With me filing it to just fit makes the trigger have the littlest amount of take up and over travel. The supplies needed to file it was around $5, or I could have just waited until Monday and just got the supplies form work but I didn't want to wait. The trigger feels good, now just need to go shoot it. |

I had SA do mine and it is SWEET! Can you please tell me how this can be arranged? I checked their website and its not too obvious. http://www.springfield-armory.com/contactus.php I was quoted $145 and $30 return shipping, plus shipping it to them. |
| I fitted the springer precision kit to my XD9 and I didn't even know about the videos. It wasn't hard, just slow going to get the best fit. I didn't use the springs that came with the kit though. I used the stock springs. I didn't want the trigger light, just shorten the stroke and smooth it out, which it did. My groups tightened up A LOT. Hitting steel at 25 yards is almost too easy. |

Yes, we have videos of "how to" in the video section of our web site. Sorry, I must have missed this earlier but it sounds interesting. Can someone tell a newbie how to get to the "video section"? Oh, never mind, I realize he meant in the Springer Precision website! |

OK, I have done more research but need some additional help making my decision for a trigger job.
From Devenue’s response, I gather that if it was done at Springfield it cost $145 and $30 return shipping plus shipping to them. Can someone tell me what is included in this – is it just a smoother trigger, or does it include something else like a shorter trigger pull. Looking at Springer Precision’s site, the “Springer Precision XD Trigger kit” appears to cost $130. The site says “The kit includes a polished sear, sear spring, trigger sprin, and trigger bar. The results of the kit is a shorter, lighter, crisper trigger pull. This is the kit gunsmiths are using, and does require minor fitting of the trigger bar and very minor fitting may be need to fit make sure the sear move freely” but this price appears to be part only. Obviousely “Springer Prcision” offer gives you more in terms of features, but I guess if I was just looking for a smoother and shorter trigger to decrease splits in IDPA, would the Springfield Armory deal be more appropriate? Thanks ahead for your help. |

Thanks! The Springer Precision is definitely also enticing, the one thing that makes me hesitate is the apparent 25% reduction in trigger pull. Wonder if you can just get the trigger smoothed without the reduction I did the Springer kit with the stock springs. So not lighter just way less take up, a good let off, and minimal over travel. Worth it... |

You can't mail pistols unless you are a FFL, they must go next day service via FedEx or UPS from non-FFL's.
A nonlicensee may ship a firearm by a common or contract carrier to a resident of his or her own State or to a licensee in any State. A common or contract carrier must be used to ship a handgun. In addition, Federal law requires that the carrier be notified that the shipment contains a firearm and prohibits common or contract carriers from requiring or causing any label to be placed on any package indicating that it contains a firearm. Thanks SpringerPrecision, will have to look into this to see what makes economic sense. I am pretty handy and so buying it from you guys may be the best way to go. Just slightly nervous – LOL!
BTW, I must say that I am slightly confused about the cost and service SpringerPrecision offers, perhaps you can help. It looks like just for parts alone, the cost for an XDM 9 mm trigger kit is $130. The other option is to ship the gun to SpringerPrecision for the same thing but done at SpringerPecision is $175 for the competition and “Combat/Carry 4-5#s + $150” – can you explain the difference? Also it looks like you guys are willing to help us lower the cost of shipping to SP. Any idea approximately how much it would be from Michigan? Thanks! |
