Shamelessly stolen from GD.

Looks to be the three different grip sizes, one standard mag and two 21rd mags, and a takedown lever lock.

How is that lever lock supposed to work? It looks to me like a screw on cap that you could unscrew with a pair of needle nose pliers. Which would kinda defeat the point, which is to prevent Staff Sgt. Knucklehead from being able to screw with the FCU.

Unless there is some small button inside the two holes that you need a more specialized tool to depress. Idk, seems wierd to me.

Kinda looks like a larger version of the Springfield Armory ILS tool would be needed.

I would like 1 box please.

Shipping all three sizes of grip module makes no economic sense.  Two thirds of the stuff in that box will get tossed in a bin somewhere and forgotten about. Then lost.  Then there will be hell to pay when someone goes looking for them.  Ship them with the medium module.  Have a handful of smalls and larges available at the unit.

Civvie guns come with one module.  If you want a different size buy it (and good luck finding a small).  M&Ps come with all three back straps but those are a lot smaller and a lot cheaper.  Three full modules is just excess cost and space.

This.

The cool thing is that the grip modules with probably be an expendable item that can be replaced.

In all fairness, remember this is XM17 packaging. Hell, these may be the submitted test guns.

Who know how they would actually be issued. That's a few years away.

My guess is that the first group of guns will ship with all three size grip to establish a baseline of the number of each size preferred.  So say a group of 100 solders play with the grips and it's determined that 20 prefer small, 60 prefer med, and 20 prefer large; now they know the quantities of each size to order for 1,000 solders, or 5,000 solders.

That makes far more economic sense than shipping all mediums (like we get) and then buying additional grips in small or large as preferred by the individual soldier.

LOL, still better looking than a glock or m&p, just not as sexy as a 1911 or maybe a CZ.

I have to laugh when people mention a gun or holster doesn't look good, who will then adamantly disparage open carry although the only time anyone will see it is they bad guy they're shooting.  As though he'd complement them; "Dude that tooled leather holster is dead sexy!"

I'm pretty sure that's a sample from the RFP.
