I have seen how a few of you have installed Hogue or similar grips on your XD's, the only problem that you are running into is that the grip if properly installed will cover up the grip safety. I thought that I would share my quick 2 second fix for that. The quick and dirty is that you bring the grip up as high as you want for shooting comfort, and then you cut out a relief for for the grip safety. The grip should still maintain its shape.

Holy big pics! You should use a razor blade to make nice final cuts and clean up any rough edges.

I used decal grip tape in the sand texture, I really like. I would probally not use it for ccw though, prob take your hide off unless u had a undershirt on.
