If I get a 357 barrel for my .40 Glock 22 will I need to get different magazines as well?

Being that the .357 Sig is a necked down 40 I would think that you could use your G22 mags. I haven't had any experience with it myself though.

You can use the G22 mags but if you have any problems you'll want to try changing the follower to a .357 Sig follower.

BTW - What generation is your G22?  You need to make sure it has the frame reinforcements first.  If it's a 3rd. gen. with the finger grooves and accessory rails then you certainly be fine.

My Glock is a 2nd Gen w/ no finger grooves or anything.  What is a follower?? I am new to firearms and know very little although I am learning more daily.  So sorry for the stupid questions.

The follower is in the mag, it is the plastic part that you see when your mag is empty.  There have been several design changes w/ Glock followers, their latest design is a little odd looking compared to the earlier conventional design.  Do you have pre-ban hi-caps or post-ban 10rd. mags?

I'll try finding you a pic of the frame reinforcement to look for.

I have two new post ban 10 rd and one NFML pre-ban Hi cap.  Also, will a magazine from a .357 sig glock fit in my gun?

Yes, a G31 mag will fit.  I chose a G23, doing so gave me access to both the mid-size and full-size mags.  The baby Glocks will accept all of their 'big brother' mags.

All 9mm/.40/.357 Glock variants are based on the std. frame size.  The .45 & 10mm variants are based on the lg. frame size.  Std. frame size mags will fit the other std. frame size models (same goes for lg. frame except for the slimline G36).  I have a 9mm conversion barrel for my G23 and use G19/G17 mags for it.

Ya, I think I'll just get a couple G31 mags then.  Thanks for your help Kevin.

I haven't found a pic yet but here's what you need to check -

Copied from GlockTalk.com:

Glock made a change to the design, such that the front 2 metal slide rails are actually a single piece of metal on later model G22s. In other words, you can see a "U" shaped metal piece that travels from the left front slide rail, down along the inside of the polymer frame, and up the other side, connecting to the right front slide rail.  Older models don't have this single piece construction.
