$450 to $475. ($50 premium for Ital) |
|
I paid $499 for mine. From what I understand now though, that was actually a little high. The current Italian ones being imported are actually supposed to be about $50 cheaper than their US counterparts, and the current Italian ones have incorporated all of those things people claimed made the US ones inferior to the Italian ones. They do not command a premium. $500 out the door isn't a bad price, and getting a US made one isn't all that bad either. They actually work just fine, and the perceived superiority of the Italian built ones is just that, hype. You know, the grass is always greener on the other side. Buds is selling them for $441 plus $25 shipping. You have to add it to the cart to see the price. www.budsgunshop.com/catalog/product_info.php/cPath/21_52/products_id/39954 |
| Also, I forgot to add. Try the FFL search feature on gunbroker. It will show you all the FFLs that will do transfers by zip code, and it shows how much they charge. I thought I was doing alright at $35 transfer charges, until I checked out the list, and find more than one that in my area that will do them for $20. One was even $15 up until about a year ago. Then they went to $20. |
On a side note, here's a nice little example of what kind of business Gander Mountain is in and what their intentions are. A few years ago, I wanted to buy a Mini-14 (before I built AR's) and I called up Gander because they were close to where I lived. Me: "Yes, I was calling to find out if you guys have any Ruger Mini-14's in stock and about how much they're going for." Gander: "Oh, well we no longer sell Mini-14's or anything else that can be used as an assault weapon." Me: "Okay, I'll try somewhere else." Keep in mind, this was after the ban lapsed and it was one of the reasons I wanted one. Here's what I have a problem with. If they want to have this "Sporting rifle only" mentality then that's fine with me. Some companies want to move in that direction and it is so they don't alienate some of their old timer customers or whatever. It's their decision. What I have a problem with is now they've said "fuck it" to that and suddenly started carrying everything, especially AR-15's and AR-10's. It's because they're corporate whores and they really don't care about their customers. The only thing they care about is making as much money as possible. I know they're a business and I know that making big money is every business's goal but to me, it showed Gander's true colors. They want to play politics with their customers and don't really care one bit about making them happy...just making money. They wanted to act like they were there for sportsmen and didn't want to carry anything "evil" but when AR's took off really well they realized they were missing out on a market and just wanted to stick their fingers in more pies. Just my opinion. Take it for what it's worth. I shop two places right now. Ohio Valley and Vances...both places have always carried everything that's been legal to own and they don't feed me any P.C. bullshit. |
The GM I bought my Beretta at had several Springfield SOCOMS, an old SP1, shitloads of surplus rifles, and an entire counter full of surplus military pistols (Walther's, Sigs's, Indian Hi-Powers, etc). Whatever Gander's crimes of the past were, I forgive them. Their regular prices still generally suck, but the price match policy and some of their sale prices make it worthwhile. |
The 92F is identical to the M9 with the possible exception of the sights (Dot and post vs. 3 dot) the only difference is the slide markings. It is nothing more than a commercial variant designed to profit from statements like (it was made for the Military) Not to fault your desire for the M9 markings but thats all they are is markings. |
From what I understand the new military issue M9's have the plastic parts in to allegedly make them more reliable in sandy environments. When I bought my M9 last year I got metal replacement parts for it. |
