Why would the light rail suck if you want to conceal carry? I conceal carry a Springfield MC Operator everyday with no problems. If these are the only choices then I would stick with a Les Bear.. hands down |

I would get the best Baer for CCW of those you mentioned. First of all that speshul Combat Government thing is a joke. If you have a fighting gun you should have nightsights, but ABOVE ALL you DON'T have fucking brick wall adjustables!!! ![]() THe Gold Cup isn't a good choice for CCW (as is) for the same reasons, but at least they don't put on airs with that one. If you are going to get a Colt, then the only sensible choice listed for your purposes is the Gunsite. I just bought a Colt and after seeing what comes out of their custom shop lately, I am very disappointed. I hear Baer is the low man on the totem pole regarding semi-customs, but the lowliest semi-custom beats the mightiest Mc1911 any day. |
considering that all the les baer pistols cost more than your alloted $1300 I'd have to go with the Colt Gunsite which is doable for $1300. |
If that's retail, then you can probably get it close to $1,300 if you shop dilligently and have patience. The question then is that a better choice for CCW? I haven't looked at it myself. |

the les baer concept 1(adj sight) and concept 2(fixed) are the powest prices baers in his catalog. also usuall street price at least where I am from is a couple hundred less than msrp I have a premier 2 (got used in the price range you mention ) and has had tems of thousands of rounds with no problems. you can get baer night sigts on the premier (adjustable) that makes it the super tac (around 2K) |
