Alrighty,
I'm getting tired of waiting for the RIA XT22.  So, I'm considering either a new Marvel conversion or a TacSol.  I'm not looking for a bullseye piece, but I want it to be hella stout and with as much steel as possible.  Thoughts?

You will be fine with either one I expect. I have a Marvel Unit 2 and it is my favorite .22 to shoot. My Ruger MKII is boringly reliable and accurate for a 4" barrel. My S&W Model 18 is wheelgun cool and smooth as butter. However, my Marvel kit on my RIA GI frame is fun, supremely accurate and, now that it is broken in, reliable with Federal bulk packs. It goes to the range almost every time I go out.

Got an order in for the "new" Bob Marvel design being sold by Nighthawk... should be shipping 2nd week of July...

Only other kit I have experience with is an old Colt unit on my dad's Gold Cup. When it works, it can't be beat for making the gun weigh in like it has a .45ACP slide up top.

Only other suggestion I have seen is to find a kit that will run with the GSG mags. They've got some weight to them, and balance out the gun nicely. There's some youtube vids floating around of a guy that runs GSG mags with his Marvel...
